William Joe Watson

Obituary:

William Joe Watson, age 58, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Friday, July 8, 2006, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 4, 1948, son of Virginia D. Crum Watson of Caldwell and the late Wilmer Floyd Watson, who died in January, 1970. He was a 1967 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Sarahsville, and was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was self-employed and enjoyed yard work and hunting. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by a son, Scott Michael Watson, who died April 22, 1983, and two brothers, Wilmer Junior Watson, who died in July 1968, and Marvin Ray Watson, who died in December 1969. Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Deborah Lynn Smith Watson, whom he married August 27, 1977; three sisters, Mrs. Gary (Myrle) Carpenter of Cambridge, Judy Hardin of Byesville, and Charlene Watson of Caldwell; two brothers, Alan (Shelia) Watson of Sarahsville and Dwaine (Marge) Watson of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Danny (Lisa) Anderson of Sarahsville; a brother-in-law, Dwight ''Butch'' (Kasina) Smith of Barberton; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, July 9, 2006, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Monday, July 10, at 11AM with Pastor Myron Guiler officiating. Obituary from the Zanesville Times Recorder, 24 Sep 1968:
CALDWELL - Jennifer Dee Carpenter, daughter of Gary and Myrle Watson Carpenter of Cambridge, was dead at birth at Guernsey Memorial Hospital in Cambridge at 4:30 pm. Monday (Sept. 23).
Also surviving are grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Watson of Senecaville Route 1, Mrs. Angie Watson of Sarahsville Route 1, and Arthur Crum of Senecaville Route 1.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City with Rev. Roy Wikander officiating. McVay Funeral Home here is in charge
