Christopher Joseph Smeltzer

The following engagement announcement was published in the Newark [OH] Advocate on 14 Mar 1977:
WALTON-SMELTZER
Mr. and Mrs. H. Samuel Walton Jr., Johnstown, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Cheryl Lynn, to Christopher Joseph Smeltzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smeltzer, 83 Myrtle Ave.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Career Medical Academy and is a medical assistant.
Mr. Smeltzer is a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Ind., and is a diesel mechanic for Ohio Oil Gathering Co.
A Sept. 24 wedding is planned.


Floyd Dudley Smithberger

At the time of the 1930 census, Floyd D. Smithberger (19) lived with his uncle and aunt, John W. (47) and Lizzie (45) Evans in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Also living in the house was 18 year old Margie Smithberger. Everyone in the household was married. (Mazie was Floyd's wife.) John Evans was Floyd's mother's brother. Floyd was employed as a road laborer.
