Robert Whitehurst

Although Robert used the surname Whitehurst, he was not the son of Ransford Leslie Whitehurst. Robert's biological father's name is not known. Ransford Leslie Whitehurst had a legitiimate son, born in Illinois. Both boys were born in 1926, and both were named Robert Whitehurst, although they are not related to each other.

Robert was known as Lefty.


Alice Ruth McCort

Wedding announcement from the Zanesville Times Recorder on 19 Jun 1977, accompanied by a photo of the bride. The print in the newspaper is very faint and difficult to read. Excerpts of the announcement:
ALICE RUTH McCORT MARRIED SATURDAY TO JOHN J. BAKER
Miss Alice Ruth McCort married John Joseph Baker Saturday evening in St. Nicholas Catholic Church whith Rev. Charles Cotton officiating assited by Rev. Everett Leedom. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lois Bennett of Cambridge Rt. 6 and the late John McCort. Mr. Baker’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Baker of 62 Southard Ave.
Ivory chiffon with a moiré satin sash, peasant sleeves and Venise lave touches on the bodice was worn by the bride. Venise lace also trimmed her cap and fingertip length veil. She carried pink and white roses, stephanotis and baby’s breath in a colonial arrangement.
Matron of Honor: Mrs. William Wetzel. Bridesmaids include Mrs. Randall Bates of New Concord, Mrs. Jerry Warden of Cambridge, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Mark Bednarzuk, sister of the bridegroom, Miss Robin Aitken, cousin of the bride, Miss Debra Aitken of Ottertail, cousin of the bride, and Miss Diane McCort of Cambridge, niece of the bride.
Flower girls: Melissa McCort and Alicia Warren, nieves of the bride. Ring bearer, Darrell Warren, nephew of the bride.
Best man, Steve Durant, cousin of the bridegroom. Ushers, Paul and James Baker, brothers of the bridegroom, (illegible name), John Dupier, and Herb Morel.
Reception assistants: Miss Debbie Ables, Mrs. Chuck Meyers, Mrs. Roger Olsen, cousin of the bride, Miss Debbie Aitken, and Miss Kathy (?) Baker, sister of the bridegroom.
The newlyweds will live at 1648 Linden Ave.
The new Mrs. Baker is a graduate of John Glenn High School and the adult practical nurse program at Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School. She is a licensed practical nurse at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Baker is a graduate of Rosecrans High School and is employed by Western and Southern Life Insurance Company. Both belong to St. Nicholas Church.

Michael F. Baker

On 29 Sep 1971, the "Armed Forces News" column of the Zanesville Times Recorder stated that Michael F. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Baker of 62 Southard avenue had been assigned to Fort Ord., Calif. for training.
