Robert F. Sears

Robert F. Sears’ obituary, from the Zanesville Times Recorder, 7 Apr 1930:

Funeral services for R. F. Sears, prominent Woodsfield lawyer, were held Sunday at 4 o’clock from the Mallory residence on Eastern avenue. The services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. J. F. Cash, pastor of the First M. E. Church.
The early part of Mr. Sears life was spent in the ministry, having served the Woodsfield Methodist church as pastor for several years.
Deceased was a member of the Men’s Bible class, the Woodsfield Kiwanis club and he belonged to the fraternal order of Masons. He had made for himself a legion of friends, who regret to learn of his death.
Surviving are his widow, three daughters and one son as follows: Mrs. Dew, Mrs. Dewitt, of Florida, Mrs. Charles Richner of Kingston, O., and Miss Rosemary of the home; and Robert Sears Jr. of Chicago, besides a host of other relatives and friends that mourn his departure.


Elizabeth E. Mallory

Elizabeth Mallory Sears’ obituary was published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 13 Jun 1965:
Mrs. Elizabeth E. Sears, 88, who had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Floyd O. Smith of Frazeyburg road, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan hospital. She had been ill for the past six months and was admitted to the hospital Friday.
She was born April 9, 1877 at Woodsfield, a daughter of Wickliffe and Rosena S. Mallory. Mrs. Sears was a lifelong member of Woodsfield Methodist Church. She was the widow of Robert Sears who died in 1930. A son, Maurice J. and a sister also preceded her in death.
In addition to Mrs. Smith, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. DeWitt Weaver of Atlanta, Ga. And Mrs. Charles E. Rickner of Akron; a brother, Walter E. Mallory of East Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Arthur J. Messner of West Hartford, Conn.; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
The body is at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home at Woodsfield where friends may call after 4 p.m. (DST) today.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. (DST) Monday with Rev. Fenton St. John officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
