Luke Merry

Luke T. Merry Luke T. Merry, age 14 months, of Canton passed away Monday, August 20, 2007, at Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital in Cleveland. A life time resident of Canton. Survived by his parents, Tom and Lisa Merry; three sisters, Hannah, Meghan, and Lydia Merry; paternal grandparents, Dale and Mary Merry; aunts, Lana Woodworth, Gail Merry and John Glenn, Kristine Coyne; two uncles, Kevin Coyne, Steve and Vicki Merry; nine cousins Tricia, Stephen, Mike, Denise, Cassie, Chelsea, Callie, Andy, and Aimee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Luke on Thursday, 11 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Navarre. Celebrant will be Fr. Edward Beneleit. Burial at St. Clement’s Cemetery in Navarre. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, (tonight) 6-8 p.m. at the Welch- Sekeres Lewis Funeral Home. We will always celebrate our little “Lukey Man’s” life. His sweet smile and gentle spirit, inspired everyone. He will live in our hearts forever. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or to St. Clement’s School.


Dorothy Jean Boston

Dorothy Jean Goddard, 74, of Armstrongs Mills, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Armstrongs Mills, a daughter of Lela VanDyne Boston and the late Paul E. Boston.
She was the former owner/ operator of Boston's Store in Armstrongs Mills and a member of the Armstrongs Mills Methodist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Goddard; a brother, Starling Boston; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Boston.
Surviving, in addition to her mother of Armstrongs Mills, are her husband, Glenn "Jim" Goddard; two sons, Glenn R. "Butch" Goddard, and his wife, Alice, of Beallsville and Dennis Keith "Denny" Goddard, and his fiancee, Melissa Briggs, of Centerville; two brothers, Earl (Gladys) Boston of Canton, Ohio, and Burl (Billie) Boston of Massillon, Ohio; a sister-in- law, Ruth Boston of Armstrongs Mills; nine grandchildren, Cara (Chet) Baker, Eric (Stacy) Goddard, Becky (Michael) Rogalski, Michael Goddard, Kimmy Goddard, Justin Goddard, Shawn Goddard, Alicia Goddard and Joshua Goddard; and seven great-grandchildren, Connor, Lance, Austin, Lauren, Rachel, Julia and Jamie.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with Rev. Michelle Lucarelli officiating. Burial follows in Armstrong Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Armstrongs Mills Methodist Church or the Arm- strong Cemetery Association.


Cara Lynn Goddard

Cara Lynn Goddard Baker's obituary appeared in the Times Leader (Martins Ferry, Ohio) on December 2, 2006

Cara Lynn Baker, 31, of Belmont, Ohio, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born April 25, 1975 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of Glenn (Butch) Goddard Jr., and Alice Schumacher Goddard.

Cara was a 1993 graduate of Beallsville High School and a 1998 graduate of Ohio University Athens, Ohio. She was currently pursuing a masters degree at Wheeling Jesuit College while working Independent Physicians Associates of St. Clairsville and was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Lafferty, Ohio.

Cara was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Bernard and Florence Kress Schumacher, paternal grandmother, Dorothy Jean Boston Goddard and an uncle, Michael A. Goddard.

Surviving in addition to her parents, Glenn (Butch) Goddard Jr. and Alice Schumacher Goddard of Armstrong Mills, Ohio, are her husband, Chester J. W. Baker; a son, Connor Baker of the home; a brother, Eric (Stacy) Goddard of Rome, Ga.,; two nephews: Lance and Austin; a niece, Makenzie Goddard, all of Rome, Ga., grandfather, Glenn (Jim) Goddard Sr., of Armstrong Mills, Ohio; great-grandmother, Luella Jane Boston of Westwood Landing, Woodsfield, Ohio; mother and father-in-law, Charlene and Chester Baker of Belmont, Ohio.

Friends will be received on Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St., Bethesda, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Marys Catholic Church, Lafferty, Ohio, with Father Chester Pabin and Minister Michelle Lucarelli officiating.

Burial in Armstrong Mills Cemetery, Armstrong Mills, Ohio.
