INJURY PROVES FATAL TO AGED CALDWELL WOMAN
Mrs. Eliza J. Smith Dies Friday Morning - Services Sunday
CALDWELL, O., Oct. 9 - Mrs. Eliza J. Smith, 87, widow of the late Henry Smith, Civil War veteran, succumbed at her home, 602 Spruce street, Friday morning at 1:50 o’clock. Death was due to a hip injury which she sustained in a fall at her home three weeks ago.
Surviving are five sons and one daughter: Common Pleas Judge W. H. Smith’ Assistant Postmaster Harry Smith, and Thurman Smith, of Caldwell; James Smith, Braggs, Okla.; M. C. Smith, Long Beach, Calif., and Miss Effie Smith, teacher in the Lorain schools.
Two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Needs, Crum Ridge; Mrs. Margaret King, Parkersburg, W. Va., and one brother, J. M. Spence, of Stock township.
Funeral services will be held from the late home on Spruce street Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock conducted by Rev. J. Hubert Smith, pastor of the First Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. A. B. Mercer of the First M. E. church. Interment will be in Olive cemetery in charge of Murphy’s.
