Richard H. Bauerbach

WATERFORD -- Richard H. Bauerbach, 71, of Sparling Road, Waterford, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 18, 2006) at his home. He was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Waterford, a son of Paul N. and Mildred Meiser Bauerbach. He had been a farmer most of his life. He had also worked at Globe Metallurgical for 21 years and retired from R&F Coal after 18 years of service. He attended Waterford High School. He was a member of Marietta Moose Lodge 1823, Fraternal Order of Eagles 3665 at Beverly, Marietta Senior Citizens, and USAW Local 6856 Retirees Club. He enjoyed farming, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian Stengel Bauerbach, whom he married on Oct. 6, 1953; one daughter, Margie Hopkins and husband, Steve, of Lowell; three sons, Bill and friend, Cindy, of Marietta, Bob and wife, Kelly, of Waterford, and Ron and wife, Brenda, of Lowell; his mother-in-law, Lucy Stengel of Lowell; seven grandchildren, David Bauerbach, Andrew Bauerbach, Rachel (Brian) Valentine, Mitch (Jenna) Bauerbach, Lauren Bauerbach, and Janna and Stacia King; two great-grandchildren, Ian Valentine and Hailey Bauerbach; five brothers, Louis Bauerbach and wife, Eleanor, and Francis Bauerbach of Waterford, Clarence Bauerbach and wife, Kay, of Reno, Harold Bauerbach and wife, Hazel, of Caldwell, and Dale Bauerbach and wife, Charlene, of Marietta; and four sisters, Mary Rita Offenberger and husband, Herman, and Martha Hunter and husband, John, of Marietta, Jeanette Davis and husband, Gene, of Marietta, and Dorothy Huck and husband, Charlie, of Waterford. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carl Bauerbach; two sisters, Edna Marie and Anna Mae Bauerbach; and an infant granddaughter. Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 21, 2006) at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Jeff Corbett officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Nursing Service and Hospice, 210 N. Seventh St., Marietta, Ohio 45750.
