Frederick Robert Schell

The following appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on June 27, 1952: NOBLE - CO. BOY ATTACKED BY BULL Three persons are in Zanesville hospitals as a result
of three separate farm accidents in south-eastern Ohio
the past few days. Freddie Schell, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Schell of Caldwell Route 4 is improving at Good Samaritan
hospital, after being attacked by a bull on the Schell farm
east of Caldwell Tuesday. It was reported that the bull escaped its quarters and an
older brother was attempting to get the animal back into the
barn. The young boy was standing nearby and the bull
charged him. The boy ran but the animal hit him knocking
him down. Before the boy was hurt critically other members of the
family came to his aid and the bull was corralled. Hospital attendants reported the boy sustained bruises,
and was suffering from shock. His condition Thursday was

In 1970, Fred and Carol Schell lived at Caldwell Rt. 4. He was employed by Goodrich in Marietta, Ohio.


Clarence Edward Smithberger Jr.

Clarence Smithberger was a member of the Fulda high school graduating class of 1953. There were five graduates in the class, making it the smallest graduating class in Noble County that year.

In 1970, Clarence and Barbara Smithberger lived at 305 Kaye Dr., Pickerington, OH. He was employed as a Tool and Die operator and supervisor at Western Electric Corp. in Columbus, Ohio.

BIRTH ANNOUNCED
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schell announce the birth
of a daughter at their home in the Fulda community
on Friday Oct. 27. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schell and
Ignatz Fox of near Fulda are grandparents to the new
arrival.


Ambrose Joseph Biedenbach

In 1920, Ambrose (23) and Gertrude (20) Biedenbach rented a farm in Seneca Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. No children lived in the household. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Homer Morris and James Fauler.

At the time of the 1930 census, Ambrose (33) and Gertrude Biedenbach still lived in Seneca Twp. Living with them were their children Anna M. (8), Lucille M. (6), Stella (5), and Paul J. (2 yrs 8 mos.). The two oldest children attended school. The family did not own a radio.

Ambrose Biedenbach's obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 02 Oct 1969:

Ambrose J. Biedenbach, 73, of 304 Belford Street, Caldwell, a retired farmer, died at
5:45 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 1) at Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been a patient
several days. He was born April 19, 1896 in Monroe County, a son of Joseph and
Barbara Muth Biedenbach. He resided on a farm on Lewisville Route 2 for many years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Biedenbach; four daughters, Mrs. Dean (Anna
Margaret) Maxwell of Malta, Mrs. Gilbert (Lucille) Huffman of Lewisville Route 2, Mrs.
Blair (Stella) Brown of Midway and Mrs. Denver (Phyllis) Schell of Caldwell Route; a
son, Paul Biednebach of Sarahsville; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Ehlermann of Caldwell, Mrs.
Josephine Bosold, Mrs. Anna Weisend, and Mrs. Mary Kuhn, all of Canton, and Mrs.
Christine Stiner of Yuma, Ariz; three brothers, Clarence of Oregon, Henry of Cambridge
and Edmund of Lewisville Route 1; 32 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A
daughter and two brothers are deceased.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Brubach Funeral
Home in Summerfield where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Requiem mass will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caldwell with Rev. Fr.
Lawrence Luciana officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery at Caldwell.


Gertrude Barbara Wahl

Gertrude Wahl Biedenbach's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on October 2, 1973
CALDWELL -- Mrs. Gertrude Biedenbach, 74, of 304
Belford street, Caldwell, died unexpectedly Sunday after-
noon at her home.
She was born in Monroe County, May 13, 1899, a
daughter of Fred and Appolonia Miller Wahl. She had
lived on a farm on Lewisville Route 1 most of her life.
Her husband, Ambrose, died Oct. 1, 1969.
Mrs. Biedenbach was a member of St. Stephen's
Catholic Church here.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Dean (Anna
Margaret) Maxwell of Malta, Mrs. Gilbert (Lucille)
Huffman of Lewisville route 1, Mrs. Blair (Stella) Brown
of Medway and Mrs. Denver (Phyllis) Schell of Caldwell
route 4; a son, Paul of Sarahsville route 1, 31 grand-
children and 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Miss Mary
Wahl of Newark; and a brother, Edmund Wahl of Woods-
field. An infant daughter and three brothers are deceased.
Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield is in charge of
arrangements and will take the body to Murphy funeral
Home where friends may call 7 to 9 pm today and where
a Rosary will be recited at 8 pm today.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday in
St. Stephens Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Lawrence
Luciana officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery
here.
