Virginia Crock and Ben Davis had no children.


Walter Joseph Yinger Sr.

On June 5, 1917 25 year old, unmarried, Walter J. Yinger (dob: February 27, 1892; pob: Zanesville, Ohio) of Zanesville, Ohio registered for the military draft. According to his draft registrtion card, he worked as a sheet mill man at American Rolling Mill Co., Zamnesville, Ohio. His physical description is given as medium height; stout build with brown eyes and brown hair.


Walter Yinger served in the Army in World War I. Details of his service record are as follows:

In 1930, Walter Yinger (38) lived in a home owned by his 75 year old mother Anna Yinger at 1211 Hall Avenue in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. Living with them were Walter's wife, his wife Clara M. (32), and their children Walter J. (2 yrs 4 mos) and Raphael (9 months). Walter was employed as a laborer laying floor and wall tile.

Obituary:
Walter J. Yinger, 59, of 1102 Military road, a former
employe of Hazel Atlas glass plant No. 2, died at 9:30 o’clock
last night [29 Jul 1951] after a lingering illness.
Ill health forced Mr. Yinger’s retirement.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic church
and the Holy Name Purgatorial societies. He was also a
member of the Zanesville Eagles lodge and VFW post.
Surviving are three sons, Walter Jr. of the U.S. Army
in Frankfort, Germany, Raphael also of the U.S. Army and
Bernard of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Bernadetta Hutchison
of the home, and two brothers, Laurence of the Adamsville
road and Florian of Los Angeles.
The body was removed to the Hillis funeral home.


Clara Maria Crum

The first publication of banns for the marriage of Miss
Clara May Crum and Walter J. Yinger was on Sunday morning
at St. Nicholas church.

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Times Signal on May 11, 1924: Miss Clara Mae Crum and Walter J. Yinger were united in
the Holy bonds of Matrimony Tuesday morning at the St. Nicholas
Catholic church with the Rev. Vincent Schicle of Millersburg
officiating. The attendants were Miss Mathilda Crum and Martin
Noll. Later a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the
bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yinger of Hall avenue.
Mrs. Yinger is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Crum of Summer-
field, but has home in this city for the past year. They will live on
Hall avenue.

According to her death certificate, Clara Crum Yinger suffered from acute pancreatitis for a little over a year. She had an exploratory laparstomy at Good Samaritan hospital the day before her death.

MRS. WALTER YINGER FUNERAL THURSDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara M. Yinger, 46, wife of Walter
J. Yinger of Military road, who died Monday at Good Samaritan hospital
following a lingering illness, will be held at 10 o’clock Thursday morning
at St. Nicholas church. Burial will be in Mt. Olives.
She had been admitted to the hospital two weeks ago. Mrs.
Yinger was a member of St. Nicholas church and the Purgatorial society.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Walter J.
Jr., Raphael J., and Bernard F. and a daughter, Bernedetta A. Yinger, all
of the home, her mother, Mrs. Matilda Crum, of Carlisle; five brothers,
Otto of Carlise; Martin J. of Caldwell, Joseph A. of Mineral City,
Francis F. of Blunt, S.D., and Anthony Crum of Canton; three sisters,
Mrs. Loretta Blake of Fulda; Mrs. Matilda Brahler of Alverna, and
Mrs. Cecilia Nau, of Lewisville, O.
The body will be removed to the residence Wednesday morning
from the Keck funeral home.


Walter Joseph Yinger Jr.

ENTERS SERVICE: Walter J. Yinger of 1102 Military road, was one of the
16 Muskingum county men who left Wednesday for in-
duction into the armed services at Ft. Hayes, Columbus.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yinger, Sr. Through
error his name was ommited in the list of inductees
published Wednesday.


Gerald Roman Saling

Gerald R. ''Trix'' Saling, age 73, of Caldwell, died
Thursday, June 16, 2005, at his home. He was born
January 5, 1932, in Noble County, Ohio, son of the
late Felix and Clara Fogle Saling. He was a Korean
War veteran, having served in the Army. He retired
from R.C. Moore Lumber Company in Caldwell, and
was the former owner of the Elm Tavern. He was a
member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church in Fulda, the Caldwell VFW Post #4721,
the Dexter City American Legion, and the Caldwell
Moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by
three brothers: Bernard, Clem, and Herman Saling; and
one sister, Mary Evelyn Arnold. He is survived by his wife,
Joanne Crock Saling, whom he married July 4, 1959; four
sons, Gary (Tina) Saling, Donald Saling, and Daniel (Stacy)
Saling, all of Caldwell, and Randy (Jodi) Saling of Cam-
bridge; three daughters, Mrs. Darron (Cathy) Cheeseman
of Lowell, Mrs. Jack (Karen) Baker, and Lisa Saling and
fiance Craig Ferguson, both of Caldwell; 11 grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday, June 18th, from 5-8PM and
Sunday, June 19th, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins
Funeral Home, Caldwell. Christian Scripture Services will
be held Sunday evening at 7:30PM. Funeral Liturgy with
Mass will be Monday, June 20, at 10:30AM at St. Mary of
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with
Fr. Samuel Saprano officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's
Parish Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to

CALDWELL — Lester C. (Sonny) Crock, 64, of Caldwell, died
Saturday (July 7, 2001) at his residence. He was born May
29, 1937, in Noble County, son of the late Linus U. Crock,
who passed away in 1981, and Clara Margaret (Noll) Crock
of Caldwell.

Mr. Crock was a 1955 graduate of Caldwell High School. He
was retired from National Engineering, Strongsville; a member
of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the
Caldwell Moose and Eagles; and a social member of the Cald-
well Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his mother, he leaves two daughters, Teresa S.
(Michael) Milam, of North Ridgeville, and Nancy E. (Paul)
Brazie of Green; his companion, Juanita Fisher of the home;
three sisters, Joanne (Trix) Saling of Caldwell; Jean Pearson
of Erlanger, Ky.; Donna (Jim) Boyce of St. Mary’s, W.Va.; three
brothers, Vernon (Jenny) Crock of Lower Salem; Cletus Crock
of Marietta; Ray (Virgelene) Crock of Caldwell; four grandchild-
ren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where a vigil
service will be at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Funeral liturgy with mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary
of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Samuel
Soprano officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

BERNE -- Mr. and Mrs. Linus Crock announced the birth

Vernon was a member of the 1955 Caldwell Redskins football team.
