Shirley Jane Hosey

Obituary:

LEWISVILLE, Ohio - Shirley J. Kuhn, 67, of 46121 State Route 145, Lewisville, died Monday (April 5, 2004) at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Woodsfield after a short battle with PBC, an autoimmune liver disease.
She was born March 26, 1937, near Sutton, W.Va., to Ralph M. and Lois I. Peters Hosey. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville, where she was also a member of the Catholic Women's Club and a past member of the ladies auxiliary of the Lewisville Fire Department at Lewisville.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Kuhn, whom she married on Feb. 16, 1957; one daughter, Kristina K. Lafferre and her husband, Kevin, of Lewisville; two sons, Mark A. Kuhn of Hannibal and Brian E. Kuhn and his wife, Kay, of Lewisville; three sisters, Gay Egger of Riverside, Calif., Ruth Bates of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rebecca Bautista of Corona, Calif.; five brothers, Harold Hosey, Isaac Hosey and Luther Hosey, all of Webster Springs, W.Va., Ralph Hosey of Diamond, Ohio, and Albert "Puz" Hosey of Medina, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kristy, Dustin and Morgan Kuhn and Trent and Lynsey Lafferre; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Tom Hosey.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville with Father David Gaydosik as celebrant. Burial is at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Lewisville. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Wilbur Peter Archer

Obituary:
Wilbur P. Archer, 78, of 25836 State Route 78, Summerfield died at 4:15 a.m. Friday
Dec 18 1992, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville.
He was born Nov. 22, 1914, near Carlisle, son of Mrs. Ida M. Archer of Massillon and
the late Earl Archer. He was a farmer, a veteran of World War II and retired from the Ohio
Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Carlisle,
Caldwell VFW Post 4721, Summerfield American Legion and Carlisle Grange.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Archer.
Mr. Archer leaves his wife, Irene Ruppel Archer, whom he married Oct. 30, 1948; a
daughter, Mrs. Mark (Janice) Wilkinson of Zanesville; a son, Dale Archer of Hudson;
four brothers, Bernard and Edward Archer, both of Louisville, Raphael Archer of Three
Oaks, Mich., and Herbert Archer of Canal Fulton; and three granddaughters.
Friends called from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Brubach-Watters Funeral Home.
Vigil services were at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m.
Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Samuel Saprano as celebrant.
Military graveside services were conducted by Caldwell VFW 4721 in St. Michael Catholic
Cemetery.

Obituary:
Edna Earle Wiley, age 95, of Sharon, Ohio, entered eternal rest Monday, June 13, 2011, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born September 17, 1915, in Hoskinsville, daughter of the late Charles W. and Weltha Mae Harbaugh Cain. She was a 1933 graduate of Belle Valley High School, attended Marietta College, and graduated from Ohio University in Athens with a degree in education in 1963. Edna was employed as a bookkeeper at R.C. Moore Lumber Company in Caldwell. She taught at Middleburg, Dexter City, and Caldwell Schools, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Noble County Retired Teachers Association and the Noble County Historical Society. She was known for her love of flowers, gardening, knitting, and crocheting, which she shared with family and friends. Edna was an avid reader until she lost her eyesight in 1989.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wiley, whom she married in 1934, and who died in 1954; a grandson and his wife, David and Peggy Ruppel; a granddaughter-in-law, Jenny Ruppel; one brother, Paul Cain; and one sister, Lucille Marquis.
Surviving are three daughters, Jean (Gerald) Ruppel of Caldwell, Kay Wiley of the home, and Linda Feldner of Cambridge; two sisters, Virginia Walker of Canton and Flossie Lee of Canton; one brother, Charles Cain of Quaker City; five grandchildren Dr. Dennis (Dianna) Ruppel of Gahanna, Gary Ruppel of Caldwell, Larry Ruppel of Caldwell, Diane (Jerry) Emde of Plainwell, Michigan, and James (Lisa) Feldner of Westlake; thirteen great-grandchildren, Molly Ruppel, Meghan Ruppel, Zachary Ruppel, Reva (Brook) Ruppel Steed, Brian Ruppel, Kate Ruppel, Lucas Hughes, Ian Ruppel, Paige Ruppel, Emily Feldner, Abby Feldner, Nickolai Emde and Ivan Emde; two great-great- granddaughters, Hailey and Riley Ruppel; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 15, 2011, from 11AM -2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service willl follow at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sharon Presbyterian Church or to the Noble County Historical Society.


David Murray Ruppel

RUPPEL David M. Ruppel, age 46, of SR 147, Sarahsville, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Hospice of Genesis in Zanesville. He was born June 7, 1953 in Zanesville, beloved son of Gerald and Jean Ann Wiley Ruppel of Caldwell. He worked for several years as a carpenter with his father, he was co-owner of Watson Ruppel Performance and was an A.S.C. Certified Master Engine Machinist. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda and attended The Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Peggy Watson Ruppel, whom he married June 26, 1977; son, Zachary Robert Ruppel, 13; daughter, Paige Renee Ruppel, 8, both of the home; sister, Diane Ruppel of Kalamazoo, Mich.; brothers, Dr. Dennis Ruppel of Gahanna, Gary Ruppel and Larry Ruppel of Caldwell; special granny, Edna Wiley of Sharon. Funeral service will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. at McVAY-PERKINS FUNERAL HOME, Caldwell. Burial will follow at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to the Noble County Home Health or to Hospice of Genesis.


Peggy L. Watson

Peggy L. Ruppel, age 55, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at her home. She was born May 16, 1953, in Cambridge, daughter of John R. and Janice I. Day Watson of Sarahsville. She was a 1971 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, with a degree in education. She also received a master of education from Muskingum College. She was employed as a consumer science teacher for Cambridge City Schools in 1975, and by Shenandoah High School from 1976-2008. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma teaching honorary and a member of the Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and cooking. She is preceded in death by her husband, David M. Ruppel, whom she married June 25, 1977, and who died Octocber 2, 1999; one sister, Sandra Watson McDonald; and one brother, John Robert Watson, II. Surviving are one daughter, Paige Renee Ruppel of the home; one son, Zachary Robert Ruppel of Athens; one brother, David A. (Kathy) Watson of Sarahsville; her father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Jean Wiley Ruppel of Caldwell; two uncles, Amos A. Day of Caldwell and Neil R. Day of Cambridge; a special niece, Lisa Loos of Cambridge; a special cousin, Laurlee Bass of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Thursday, April 23, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Friday, April 24th at 2PM with Pastor Tom Gruver and Mark Withrow officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery.
