Benjamin M. Burkhart

Obituary from The Monroe County Republican (newspaper):
The death of Benjamin Burkhart occurred at Miltonsburg, January 30, about five
o'clock from a long illness of tuberculosis, aged 41 years, two months and 2 days. He
leaves to morn his wife and one daughter, Hilda, aged about one year. Four step-children,
an aged mother, three brothers, Jacob and Clemence Burkhart, of Kuhn, and two sisters,
Celia Christman, of near Miltonsburg, and Clara Smithberger, near Malaga. Mr. Burkhart
was a member of the Catholic church. The funeral was conducted by Father Miller with
requiem high mass at St. John's Catholic church, of Miltonsburg.

Elizabeth Ellen Reischman

In 1920, 43 year old widow Lizzie Burkhart lived on a farm that she owned in Malaga Twp., Noble Co., Ohio with four children from her first marriage -- Gertrude (18), Lawrence (17), Celia (15), and Leo (10) -- and a daughter from her second marriage -- Hilda (3).

ELIZABETH POULTON CALLED BY DEATH
Barnesville, O. - Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Poulton, 73, died in her home at 815 North
Chestnut street Friday morning [30 Dec 1949] following a long illness. Born near
Boston Aug. 17, 1876, she was a daughter of Michael and Mary Wahl Reischman.
Bereaved are five children, Mrs. Marian Stephens of Woodsfield route 3, Mrs.
Alonzo Carpenter of near Lewisville, Lawrence and Leo Miller of Quaker City rural,
and Mrs. Vernon Taylor of Barnesville; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild,
and two brothers, Ed Reischman of Barnesville, and Nick Reischman of Miltonsburg.
She was a member of the Barnesville Church of the Assumption and services will
be held there Monday morning at 10. Rev. Father Rudolph Wargo will be in charge.
Burial will be in Miltonsburg cemetery. The Rosary will be said Sunday evening at 8
in the Campbell funeral home here.

Although her obituary says that Elizabeth Reischman Poulton died at her home in Barnesville, the West Virginia death certificate index states that she died in Wheeling, WV.


Gladys Mary Burkhart

Gladys was a nursing student at the time of her death.


John F. Armbruster

The family has not been found in the index for the 1900 US Census.

In 1910, John (52) and Tillie (42) Armbruster owned a home at 464 East Church St. in Urbana, Champaign County, Ohio. Living with them were their three children: Harold (14), Clara (10), and Lawrence (7). No one in the home was employed. Living next door was the family of Peter Armbruster (44); the relationship between the two men is not known at this time.

Ten years later, the Armbrusters lived at 463 East Church St. The household consisted of John, Otillia, Harold and Clara. John was employed as an organ-maker in a factory. Another Armbruster family lived at 464 East Church St.: widow Magdelena and four unmarried children who ranged in age between 44 and 58. The relationship between the Armbruster families has not been determined.


Otillia Poulton

In 1930, 63 year old widow Otilla Armbruster owned a home worth $6000 at 460 East Church St. in Urbana, Champaign County, Ohio. She lived with her unmarried son Harold (33). Neither Otilla nor Harold was employed.

Clara Armbruster

In 1920, 19 year old Clara Armbruster lived with her parents and older brother in Urbana, Ohio. She worked as a store clerk.


Lawrence W. Armbruster

Lawrence did not appear in the 1920 census with his parents and siblings. He would have been about 17 years old at the time. According to his death certificare, Lawrence Armbruster never married.


John H. Huth

John Huth has not been found in the 1900 census index for Ohio.

In 1910, farmer John Huth owned a farm in Sunsbury Twp., Monroe County, Ohio where he lived with his wife of 28 years, Mary (50), and children Celie (24), Stella (18), Gertrude (17), Laurie (13), Lucy (10), and Wilferd (8). The youngest three children attended school. Everyone in the household was born in Ohio.

At the time of the 1920 census, John (66) and Mary (58) Huth were still living in Sunsbury Twp. with two of their unmarried children: Cecelia (35) and Wilford (18).


Mary Burkhart

It has not been proven that Mary Burkhart, daughter of Sebastian and Catherine is the same person as Mary Burkhart, wife of John Huth.

At the time of the 1910 census, all six of Mary Huth's children were living. Mary was born in Ohio to German-born parents.

George Michael Christman

In 1910, George Chirstman's household consisted of himself, his wife Celia, and infant daughter Estella.

At the time of the 1920 census, George Christman (44) owmed a farm in Malaga Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. He lived with his wife Celia (41), and children Stella May (9), Clarence (7), and Leora (5). Stella and Clarence attended school.

In 1930, George (54) and Celia (50) Christman owned a farm in Malaga Twp. where they lived with their children Estella M. (20), Clarence L. (18), Leora E. (16), Bertha L. (8), and a 53 year old farm hand named George Allehouse. Only Leora and Bertha attended school. The Christman family did not own a radio set.

John Charles Weber

Records conflict on date of birth: Oct 1846 (1900 census) vs. Oct 1864 (Snider). The figure in the census is believed to be a transposition of the correct year of birth.

In 1900, John Weaver, his wife Rosa, and their infant daughter Rachel lived with John's parents, Magnus and Elizabeth Weaver in Enoch Twp., Noble County Ohio. John was a carpenter like his father.

In 1910, John Weber (45) lived with his wife Rose (43) in a home they owned in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them was their 10 year old daughter Mary R. John and rose had been married for 23 years. rose attended school. John worked as a house carpenter. All members of the household were born in Ohio. According to the census, John's father was born in Germany, his mother in Ohio and Rose's parents in Germany.

In 1920, 55 year old John Webber lived with his wife Rosia (53) in a home they owned in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. According to the census, John and Rosia were both born in Ohio, John's father was born in Germany, his mother in Ohio and Rosie's parents in Germany.

On Jul 12, 1925, Mr. and Mrs. John Weber attended a triple birthday party at the home of Frank Smoth to honor Mrs. Alex (Tillie) Gerst, Frank Smith, and Fred Fox. See notes of Fred Fuchs (Fox) for text of the article from the Zanesville Times Recorder.

In 1930, 65 year old John Weber lived with his wife Rose (63) in a home they owned (value $1000) in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. John and Rose had been married for 42 years. John worked as a house carpenter. According to the census, John and Rosia were both born in Ohio, John's father was born in Germany, his mother in Ohio and Rosie's parents in Germany. The family owned a radio. Listed immediately after John on the census is his son-in-law, Otto Miller with this wife Marie and their children.

John Weber’s obituary appeared on page 8 of the Zanesville Times Recorder on 6 Mar 1941
JOHN WEBER, 78, DIES AT HIS HOME IN NOBLE COUNTY
CALDWELL, O. -- John Weber, 78, retired carpenter
and farmer died suddenly at 7:30 Tuesday morning at his home
near Fulda. He was in his usual health and was working around
the home, when he stumbled and fell. He was dead before a phys-
ician could arrive. A heart attach was given as the cause of death
by his physician, Dr. G. H. Zimmerman.
Mr. Weber was a son of the late Magnus and Elizabeth
Weber and had spent all of his life in the Fulda community. His
wife, Mrs. Rosa Schott Weber, died five years ago. A daughter,
Mrs. Otto J. Miller and five grandchildren survive. A sister, Mrs.
Adam Rupple of Caldwell and a brother, Fred Weber of Youngs-
town also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning a 9
o’clock at St. Mary's Catholic church of which he was a member,
and will be conducted by Rev. B. J. Mattes. Interment will be
made in St. Mary’s cemetery in charge of the Brubach funeral home.


Rosa Schott

Rosa's married name is Weaver in the census and her obituary, but Weber in the online Ohio Death Certificate Index and her husband's obituary.

Rosa Schott Weaver's (Weber) obituary appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on April 8, 1935. ESTEEMED WOMAN TAKEN FROM LIFE Caldwell, O., April 8 -- Mrs. John Weaver, 70, highly
esteemed resident of Fulda vicinity and a devoted mem-
ber of the St. Mry's church passed away at her home,
Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, this after an illness all
winter of complications and heart disease. Her death
came as a shock to the community, however, as she
had been able to be up and around the past few
months. Surviving are her husband, John Weaver, proprietor
of the planing mill in that village and one adopted daughter,
Mrs. R. Miller of Fulda, in addition to two sisters and a host
of friends.
