Harold P. Bishop

Obituary:
LOCAL INDUSTRIALIST IS DEAD
An apparent heart attack was suffered by Harold P. Bishop at his
home at 508 South Mill st, Louisville, on Saturday Jan. 30 [1965].
Previous heart attacks had been experienced in July and December of
last year.
Mr. Bishop was president and owner of H-P Products, Inc. of Louisville.
The firm originally made gas conversion burners and home vacuum cleaners,
but more recently has been the manufacturer of modern built-in vacuum
cleaning systems. Mr. Bishop was the originator of the system and held
patents on the company’s exclusive pipe-bending process.
In 1953, a disastrous fire leveled the company’s buildings but not the spirit
of its management. Through issuance of bonds primarily to local citizenry the
firm was back on its feet with premature bond payments, and ten years later
had reached new heights of accomplishments.
Mr. Bishop was a charter member of the Louisville Kiwanis Club, and held
memberships in St. Louis Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Frater-
nal Order of Eagles of Louisville; the Canton Club, the Sales Executive Club of
Canton.
Surviving him are his wife, Mabel; four sons, Gerald and David of the home,
and Paul, a student at Ohio State University, and Thomas, serving with the
Navy at San Diego, Calif.; also his mother, Mrs. Anna Bishop of Louisville;
four sisters and one brother.
On Wednesday, Requiem High Mass was held in St. Louis Church and inter-
ment was by Paquelet Funeral Home was in the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Edwards III, Warren Smith, Olas Miller,
Robert Kress, Bernard Haren and Harold Derry. Pallbearers were Arthur Bishop,
Robert Samblanet, William Haren, Earl McKimm, Carl Schumacher and Sidney
Soreneson.

A large photo of Mr. Bishop accompanied the front-page obituary.


August Michael Samblanet

In 1910, 61 year old farmer August Samblanet lived in Nimishillin Twp., Stark Co., OH with his wife of 31 years, Eugeia (52) and children Austin (23), Herman (21), Isabel (19), and Vincent (15). Everyone in the home was born in Ohio. August and Eugenia's parents were born in France.

George Haren

Found on 1900 Ohio Census Index at age 42 with following family members: Wife: Mary E. Age 42 and Children: Louisa C. Age 17, Otto A. Age 14, Maimie J.(Mary Josephine) Age 11, Agnes H. Age 9, and Harry G. Age 5 yrs. Also listed: Mr. George Burkhardt. Age 25 yrs.

Obituary from the Louisville Herald:
George Haren died Wednesday night February 4, in the
home at 210 Gorgas St. where he had resided 37 years. A retired
contractor, Mr. Haren was born in Monroe county 89 years ago.
Since coming here, he had been a member of St. Louis Catholic
Church.
He leaves three sons, Otto A., Harry G. and Vern Haren;
two daughters, Mrs. Simon Schumacher, and Mrs. Joseph McKimm,
all of Louiville; a sister Mrs. Matilda Baker of Monroe County; 31
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A requiem High Mass was sung Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in
St. Louis Church with with burial in the church cemetery in charge
of the Paquelet parlors.

Mary Ann Baker

Obituary from page 1 of the Louisville Herald on 8 Oct 1936:
Mrs. Mary Ann Haren, 78, wife of George Haren, died
at her home on East Gorgas street Sunday night following an illness
of several years. The deceased was born in Monroe county. She
was a faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Ann’s
Altar Society. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs.
Simon Schumacher, Mrs. Joseph McKimm; and three sons, Otto,
Harry and Vern Haren of Louisville. Services were held with solemn
requiem high mass at held with solemn requiem high mass at St. Louis
church on Wednesday morning. The officiating ministers were Rev.
Fr. J. T. Ruffling and Rev. Fr. Paul Bucholz of Louisville and Rev.
Fr. Baker, a nephew of the deceased, of Monroe county. Interment
was made in St. Louis cemetery.


Agnes Helena Haren

Age 26 yrs. Set of records show death date as 29 May 1918 and burial date as 31 May 1918 at age 29 yrs. These were received from St. Louis Parish in Louisville, Stark, Ohio. Another set received from Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home also in Louisville, shows death date as 30 May 1916 at age 27 yrs. Death Certificate # 31141, Volume # 2261, states date of death as May 30, 1917 which was found on Ohio State Death Certificate Index (1913 - 1937).

Leonard Bishop

In 1900, 20 year old Leonard lived with his mother on her farm in Elk Twp., Noble Co., Ohio.

In 1920, farmer Leonard Bishop (39) owned a farm on McGentry (?) Road in Nimishillin Twp., Stark County, Ohio, where he lived with his wife Amelia (35) and children Edward (14), Clarence (8), and Dorotha (4 yrs 8 mos), and brother-in-law Isadore Zwick (30). Edward and Clarence attended school.

Leonard Bishop's obituary appeared in The Louisville [OH] Herald on 17 Feb 1955:
Mr. Bishop was a native of Harriettsville, but had resided in our vicinity for
about 50 years. At the age of 74 he succumbed in Mercy Hospital on Thursday
[10 Feb 1955] a few hours after a heart attack. He had resided with his daughter,
Mrs. Eleanor Neff of Louisville.
Two other daughters survive Mr. Bishop. They are Mrs. Donald Dodge of
Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Regina Dick of North Canton; two sons, Edward and
Clarence of Louisville; also fifteen grandchildren.
Requiem High Mass was sung on Monday in St. Louis Catholic Church and burial
in charge of Paquelet funeral home was in the church cemetery.


Amelia Zwick

Obituary from the Louisville Herald, page 5, 23 Aug 1945:
MRS. LEONARD BISHOP
Mrs. Amelia Bishop, 61, wife of Leonard Bishop of
RD 3, Louisville, died Tuesday night in Mercy Hospital after a
brief illness.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church,
St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society, and Columbus Woman’s Club.
Other survivors are two sons, Edward of Louisville and Clarence of
the home; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dodge of Springfield, Pa.,
Mrs. Regina Dick and Eleanor Bishop of the home; two brothers,
Isadore and Clemence G. Zwick of Louisville; one sister, Mrs.
Edward Reischman of Lewisville, Monroe County, and four grand-
children.
Rev. Fr. Francis Palm will sing the requiem high mass Friday
at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body was take to the home Wednesday from the Paquelet parlors.


Edward Joseph Bishop

Obituary:
Edward J. Bishop, age 83, of 805 Taff Circle, Louisville, passed away Monday April 3 [1989] at St. Joseph Hospice following an extended illness. Born in Harrisburg Oct 1, 1905 to the late Leonard and Amelia Zwick Bishop he lived in the Louisville area all his life. A dairy farmer, he had retired in 1970. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Stark County Farm Bureau, and Knights of Columbus Council 2530.
He is survived by his wife - Kathryn E., one daughter - Eileen M. Helling of Canton, three sons, Leonard J., David E. , and Eugene F. Bishop, all of Louisville. He was preceded in death by one son - Mark J. in 1968, son-in-law Victor Heilling, brother - Clarence, and two sisters, Regina and Dorothy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Calling hours in the Paquelet Funeral Home were Tuesday evening. K of C. prayer services were also held Tuesday evening.


Kathryn Elizabeth Franklin

Obituary:
Kathryn E. Bishop, age 78, of Louisville, passed away Saturday Aug. 8 [1992] in Timken Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born November 18, 1913, in Canton to the late Judson and Amelia (Kell) Franklin, Mrs. Bishop was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ellen M. Helling of Canton, three sons, Leonard J., David E. and Eugene F., all of Louisville; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Bishop who passed away April 3, 1989; a son Mark, and two brothers, Robert and Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. John H. Zuraw officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called Tuesday evening at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Louisville. The family suggests contributions to the St. Joseph Hospice Building Fund.


Mark Joseph Bishop

Obituary:
MARK J. BISHOP
After an extended illness, Mark Bishop or 9365
Georgetown rd, Louisville, passed away on April 27 [1968].
He was 15 years of age. Survivors include his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Edward J. Bishop; one sister, Ellen, of the home;
and three brothers, David and Eugene of the home, and
Leonard of Louisville.
Requiem High Mass was held in St. Louis Church
where he was a member and burial was in the church cem-
etery. Paquelet Funeral Home was in charge of the arrange-
ments.
