Adrian C. Archer

In 1900, 30 year old Adrian C. Archer owned a home in Carlisle Village, Stock Township, Noble County, Ohio where he lived with his wife, Bridget and sons Otto S. (2) and Leo E. (8 mos.). Adrian worked as a miller. Adjacent families in the census belonged to Adrian's father Sebastian Archer and his brother Purcell.

By 1910, Adrian had moved his family to Dennison Village in Mill Twp., Tuscarawas County, Ohio, where he rented a home on Third St. Living with him were his wife, Bridget (39), and children Leo E. (10), Maurice E. (8), Florentine (7), Ernest (5) and Bernard (2). Adrian was a partner in a bottling works. The oldest three children attended school. (He may have been in partnership with Bridget's brothers Albert and Roman Heil, who owned a bottling plant in Tuscarawas County.)

The Archer family moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 1912. In 1920, they were living in a rented house at 602 Underwood St. in Zanesville. The family consisted of Adrian (50), Mary B. (49), Leo (20), Morris (18), Florentine (17), Ernest E. (15), Bernard G. (12), and Paul W. (5). Only Ernest and Bernard attended school. Adrian was employed as a laborer in a machine company. Of the children, only daughter Florentine was employed... she worked as a stove worker at a glass company.


Bridget Mary Heil

The US census indicates that five of Bridget's six children were alive in 1910. Otto died before that time.

In 1930, 59 year old widow Bridget M. Archer owned a home worth $2000 at 802 Elberon Ave. in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. Living with her were her sons Muarice E. (28), William P. (10), Bernard G. (22) and Bernard's new wife, Margaret (18). Of the members of the household, only Bernard was employed; he worked as a clerk in a grocery store.

MRS. BRIDGET ARCHER FUNERAL TUESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Bridget Archer, 71, of
802 Elberon avenue, who died Saturday morning [17 Jan
1942] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gerald Durant, of
Wayne avenue, will be held at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning
at St. Thomas Catholic church. Burial will be in Mt.
Calvary.
Mrs. Archer was a native of Fulda, O., but had
resided in Zanesville since 1912. She was a member of the
Purgatorial society, the Ladies Catholic Benevolent society
and the Altar and Rosary society of St. Thomas Catholic
church.
Surviving are fours sons, Leo, of South Zanesville;
and Maurice, Bernard, and Paul W. Archer, and a daughter,
Mrs. Gerald Durant, all of this city; three brothers, Henry
Heil, of Fulda; Albert Heil, of Dennison, and Roman Heil,
of Ulrichsville; two sisters, Mrs. Eve Gherst (sic) of Fulda,
and Sister M. Magilla of Good Samaritan hospital.
The body will be removed to the Archer residence
on Elberon avenue at noon today from the Keck funeral home.


Ernest E. Archer

According to his death certificate, 16 year old Earnest Archer was a college student at the time of his death.


Henry Miller

At the time of the 1870 census, 29 year old Henry Miller lived on a farm worth $4500 in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his wife Elizabeth (24) and their children Mary A. (8), Anna (6), Catherine (4), and Lewis (2). Only Mary attended school. Everyone in the family was born in Ohio. Also living in the household was a 20 year old German-born farm hand named John Baccus. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Patterson Yoho and Wendell Lori.

In 1880, 39 year old farmer Henry Miller lived in Enoch Twp. with his wife Elizabeth (35) and nine children: Hannah (15), Kate (13), Lewis (11), Margaret (9), Edward (7), Gertrude (5), Matilda (3), Clara (2), and Martin (1 month). According to the census, none of the children attended school. (It should be noted that the census taker did not mark the "attended school" column for any of the children on that page of the census.) Neighboring households in the census were those of Leonard Roehrig and John Schockling.

In 1900, 59 year old farmer Henry Miller lived on a farm that he owned in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his second wife Mary (56) and his two youngest children from his first marriage: Leo (17), and Enots (15). In the census, Henry's household is listed next to that of his younger brother Andy.

Mary Bender

The 1900 census states that Mary Miller was born in Ohio to German born parents. The column on the census that show number of children is blank. Mary and Henry had been married for nine years at the time of the census.


Henry Joseph Miller

Joseph and Margaret were in (West) Virginia from about 1840 to 1842.

In 1850, 31 year old German-born farmer Joseph Miller lived in Enoch Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with his 35 year old wife Mary and six children: Henry (9), Adam (7), John (6), Elizabeth (3), Eve (2), and Leonard (4 months). Only the oldest child attended school. The family was enumerated next to John Gerst's household in the census.

In 1870, Joseph Miller (50) lived in Enoch Twp. Noble Co., Ohio with his wife second wife Mary A. (45) and children Lenonard (20), Andrew (14), John (8), George (6), and Joseph (4). The children were all born in Ohio; Joseph and Mary were born in Hesse Cassel. Only John attended school. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to John Gerst and J. Henry Hupp.

At the time of the 1880 census, Joseph Miller (62) still lived in Enoch Twp.with his second wife Mary (55) and sons John (18), George (16) and Joseph (14). Neighboring households in the census were those of Joseph Blake and Francis John Zwick.

In 1900, 82 year old Henry J. Miller lived in a house that he owned in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his 75 year old second wife Mary. Henry and Mary had been married for 40 years. Accordding to the census, Henry was born in Germany and came to America in 1834, when he was 17 years old. He was a naturalized American citizen. Henry J. Miller could not read, write, or speak English.

Adam Miller

Adam Miller is listed in the 1850 census, but does not appear in Delores Snider's "St. Mary's -- 150 Years -- Fulda OH" as a child of Henry Joseph Miller. Noble County death records for 1871 contain a listing for an unmarried 28 year old Adam Miller in Enoch Twp. He is listed on a page containing other parishoners of St. Mary's chuch. It has not been proven that this is the son of Henry Miller.


William P. Huffman

Tombstone inscription indicates that William Huffman served in World War I: PVT, 6TH REGT, CAC, WWI

In 1920, William P. Huffman lived with his parents and brothers in Braddock, PA. William worked as a machinist at the electric works.

At the time of the 1930 census, 33 year old William P. Huffman rented a home for $19 a month at 140 Corry Ave. in Braddock. He lived with his wife of eight years, Mary L. (29), and their daughters, Mary M. (7) and Rita E. (6). Mary attended school. Everyone in the household was born in Pennsylvania. William worked as a machine hand for an electric manufacturer. The family did not own a radio set. Living a few doors down from the Huffmans were the Herbst sisters, who were natives of Fulda, Ohio.


Lillian Mary Wells

According to the 1930 census, Lillian's parents were natives of Pennsylvania.


Ernest Francis Huffman

In 1920, 21 year old Francis E. Huffman lived with his parents and brothers in Braddock, PA. He was employed as a butcher.

In 1930, Ernest F. Huffman (31) owned the home at 138 Comrie Ave. that had belonged to his parents. He lived there with his wife of eight years, Anna E. (31), and their children Ernest F. Jr. (6), Rose Mary (4 yrs 10 mos), and Margaret (1 yr 11 mos). Ernest Jr. attended school. The family's home was valued at $2250. Ernest Sr., who was a veteran of the World War, worked as a butcher. The Huffman family owned a radio set. Ernest's brother Elmer lived next door.


Anna E. Miggin

According to the 1930 census, Anna's parents were natives of the Irish Free State.


Paul Francis Schweinberg

Last known residence: Florida. Paul is a teacher.
