In 1900, Peter Zwick did not live with his parents and siblings on the family farm in Stuebenville City in Franklin Twp., Monroe County, Ohio.

In 1910, Peter W. Zwick (35) and his wife of 7 years, Elenore (25), owned a mortgaged home on Back Street in Lewisville, Monroe County, Ohio. According to the census, it was the first marriage for both Peter and Julia. Julia had given birth to two children, both still living, but neither child was enumerated in the household with their parents. Since Elenore is known to have given birth to her third child two days after the census was taken, it's likely that the two toddlers were sent to stay with relatives. Peter was a laborer who did odd jobs. Both he and his wife were natives of Ohio, as were their mothers. Peter's father was from Germany. Elenore did not know exactly where her father was from... his nativity is listed as "United States."

At the time of the 1920 census, 45 year old Peter Zwick was employed as a store clerk. He lived on a farm in Lewisville Village, Summit Twp., Monroe Co. Ohio with his 35 year old wife, Nora, and their three sons Uriel (9), Sennen (8), and Hugo (3).

Common Please Judge of W. H. Smith and ordered to
pay his wife, Mrs. Mary Schafer Zwick, $1,000 before

leased.
It is alleged that Zwick deserted his wife and four
children about 13 years ago. He was indicted in
1939 for non-support, but had never been appre-
hended since that time. Sheriff Jum McKee began
investigating after he took office last January and
located Zwick near Cincinnati. Deputy Sheriff
George McKee accompanied by Probate Judge
Otto Poling went to Cleves several days ago and
arrested him and brought him to the Noble county
jail.
It was found that he was employed near Cincinnati,
and although he had not supported his children since
1939, he was driving a Packard automobile. His family
are needy, but have managed to stay off relief.
Following Zwick’s arraignment, Attorney Leo Carter
filed suit for Mrs. Zwick, asking for a divorce on the
