George Earl Sells

George Sells’ obituary was published in the Caldwell Journal Leader on 28 Aug 2006:
George Earl Sells, 63. of Quaker City, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at his home, which he called the Little Ponderosa.
He was born April 23, 1943, in Belmont, son of the late Charles “Abe” T. and Bernice Cornelia Gallagher Sells.
He was raised in Barnesville, where he attended school. His mother’s second husband, Albert “Abbie” Smith helped in his upbringing.
Mr. Sells retired from Transue and Williams in Alliance where he served 35 years. He returned to the Barnesville area in 2003 to be near his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Miller, on November 7, 1969. They were married on July 27, 1967.
He leaves a daughter, Lori Bernice Pittman; a granddaughter, Betty Bernice Pittman; a brother, Charles L. Sells, all of Barnesville; and a sister, Tonia (Donnie) Wood of Dallas, W.Va.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Campbell-Plumly-Millburn Funeral home, Barnesville, where services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Jeff Wyeth officiating.


Carl Francis Martin

CARL MARTINS MARK 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Martin of Phoenix celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary recently with a Mass at St Luke’s Church, followed by a
family dinner at “Yesterdays”, both in Phoenix, Az.
The former Esther Brah­ler and Carl Martin. were married Sept. 2,
1961 at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Harrisburg, Ohio by Rev. Lambert
Andrews. Martins have three children: son. US. Navy EM3 John L. of
Orlando, Florida; son US Have AWAA Douglass. M. of Moffet Field,
California and a daughter, Michele, Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Martin is employed as a mail carrier with the U.S. Post Office. Mrs.
Martin works as a component operator with Intel, a semiconductor company
from Santa Clara, California. They are members of St. Luke’s Church, Phoenix.
The Martins were life time residents of the Canton, Alliance, Louis­ville area
prior to their move to Phoenix in 1976.


John F. Suter

In 1930, John F. Sutter (23) and his wife Julia M. (22) rented part of a two-family dwelling at 602 Garfield St. SW in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Their rent was $28 a month. Living with them was their two month old son, John F. John Sr. was salesman in a retail clothing store. He and his parents were born in Ohio. Like many of their neighbors, the Suter family owned a radio set.
