Robert Elwood Rall

Mason. Sr. Eugenia Maurer's manuscript states that Robert E. Rall is a veteran of WW II (US Army Tank Division). If this is so, he would have to be at least 10 years older than his wife, who was born in 1935.


Robert Charles Thornton

Employed by the City of Columbus. Sr. Eugenia Maurer's manuscript states that Robert C. Thornton was a veteran of WW II (US Army Tank Division), but given his date of birth (1937) this seems rather unlikely.


Harry Nicholas Miller

On September 12, 1918, farmer Harry Nicholas Miller (19) of RFD #2, Dexter City, Noble co., Ohio registered for the military draft. According to his draft registration card he was born on August 16, 1899. His nearest relative is listed as George Miller [father] who is also listed as his employer. His physical description is given as medium height and build, brown eyes and black hair.

At the time of the 1920 census, Harry Miller (20) lived on a farm with the family of his brother Edward in Pioneer Twp., Cedar Co., Iowa. The census taker incorrecly noted that Harry and his parents were born in Iowa.

In 1930, Harry (30) and Iva (27) Miller lived on a farm with Harry's parents. Living with them was their son, William J. (5). Harry worked as a laborer doing odd jobs.

Harry was living in Canton, Ohio in April, 1964.

From the Zanesville Times Recorder, 17 Feb 1927:
HARRIETSVILLE -- Mrs. Harry Miller and son William visited
Thursday and Friday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Schafer.


Sebastian C. Schafer

At the time of the 1900 census, 34 year old barber Sebastian C. Schafer lived in Elk Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his wife of 12 years, Wilhelmina (34) and children Rudolph E. (4) and Bernice Juanita (1 mo). Everyone was a native of Ohio, as was Sebastian's mother. His father was German, as were Wilhelmina's parents.

In 1910, Sebastian C. Schafer (44) owned a home in Elk Twp. Living with him were his wife, Wilhelmina (44) and children Rudolph E. (14), Bernice J. (10) and Iva L. (7). All three children attended school. Everyone in he home was a native of Ohio. Sebastian's father and mother were natives of Germany and Ohio, respectively. Wilhelmina's father was also German; her mother was from Pennsylvania. Sebastian was a self-employed barber. According to the census, Wilhelmina had given birth to three children, all of whom were still living. A number of other Schafer families were enumerated on the same page of the census.

Owns a tow-truck service. Sr. Eugenia Maurer states that Joseph Edward Thronton is a veteran of WW II (US Army Tank Division), but given his date of birth (1940) this seems rather unlikely.
