The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on August 11, 1950:
TWO PASS EXAMS FOR NURSES Doris G. Spragg of Bethesda hospital and Rita C. Schott of Good Samaritan hospital passed the recent examination for registered nurses, it was announced yesterday by the State Nurses board at Columbus. They were among the 417 applicants passing the exam.

Ellis Beda Schott

The following article was published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 22 Oct 1953:
CALDWELL SOLDIER IS PROMOTED
Ellis B. Schott, son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Schott,
Caldwell Rt. 4 was recently promoted to corporal while
serving with the 33d Infantry Regiment in the Panama
Canal Zone.
Corporal Schott who received basic training at Camp
Roberts Calif. arrived overseas in August 1952 and is a
squad leader in the regiment’s Company L at Fort William
D. Davis.
Before entering the army in January 1952 he graduated
from Caldwell high school with the class of 1949 and was
employed by the Hercules Motors of Canton.
Soldiers of the 33d undergo intensive jungle warfare
training while providing security for the Panama Canal.
They also conduct large scale training exercises for other
units based in the U. S.

The following birth announcement appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on May 15, 1937 Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Schott, near Caldwell, announce the birth of a daughtr at Memorial hospital, Marietta.


The following engagement announcement appeared in The Newark Advocate on March 31, 1961 NORMA JEAN SCHOTT WILL MARRY LELAND HICKMAN ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN MADE by Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Schott, Caldwell, of the engagement of their daughter, Miss Norma Jean Schott to Leland F. Hickman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hickman, Nashport RFD 2. The bride-elect was graduated from Caldwell High School and attended the Zanesville branch of Ohio University. She is employed as a bookkeeper by the Farmers and Merchants Bank in cladwell. Mr. Hickman is a graduate of Hopewell High School and Andrew's Barber College. Recently he opened a barber shop in Frazeyburg. Miss Schott and her fiance are planning their wedding in June.

Frederick Alex Heppner

Fred Heppner's obituary appeared in The Louisville Herald on 20 Sep 1956:

Sudden death came to Mr. Heppner in his home, RD 3, last Friday morning
[14 Sep 1956]. He had been residing in this vicinity for 36 of his 68 years. He
was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving besides his widow, Adeline, are two sons of Louisville, Bernard and
Harold; one brother, Andrew of Caldwell; two sisters of Louisville, Mrs. Laura
Schockling and Mrs. Crescenta Hupp; also seven grandchildren.
Requiem High Mass was sung Monday morning in St. Louis Church and burial
was in the church cemetery in charge of Paquelet funeral home.


Adeline Miller

Obituary:
MRS. FREDERICK HEPPNER
Aged 74, Mrs. Heppner of Meese rd succumbed on May 12 [1964] after
an extended illness. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and their
St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society; also of Nimishillen Grange, and the Linden
Hall Homemakers Club.
Surviving her are two sons, Bernard and Harold of Louisville; four brothers,
Otto and Emil Miller of Fulda, O., Elmer Miller of Dexter City and Edward Miller
of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Arnold of Caldwell and Mrs. Amelia Schoeppner
of North Canton; also nine grandchildren.
On Friday, rites were held in St. Louis Church and interment was in the church
cemetery in charge of Paquelet Funeral Home.


Ralph G. Schafer

Ralph G. Schafer, age 80, of Canton, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 18, 2000,
in Altercare of Louisville following an brief illness. Born in Caldwell, OH, Nov. 10, 1920,
to his parents, the late Clemence and Margaret (Shockling) Schafer, he lived most of his
life in the Canton area and was a self-employed auto mechanic having owned the Amoco
Station at Clearview. He retired after 40 years of service. Mr. Shafer was a member of St.
Paul's Catholic Church in Canton and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the
U.S. Army, 97th Hospital Evacuation Unit.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Schafer and daughter,
Rita Schafer. Survivors include his loving wife, Juliana Schafer of the home. to whom he was
married 52 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jane Schafer of East Canton, OH,
Mark and Vicky Schafer of Canton Twp.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Mike
Leasure of Louisville, OH, Ann and Daniel Berg of Louisville, OH; one brother and his spouse,
Ruben and Delores Schafer of Caldwell, OH; his sister and her spouse, Dorothy Mae and Bernard
Riski of Caldwell, OH; one sister-in-law, Agatha Schafer of Senecaville, OH; 11 grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic
Church with Fr. Nicholas Mancini as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling
hours at the Reed Funeral Home Wednesday 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
in his name to St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1459 Superior Ave. NE, Canton, OH.
