Rupert John Miller

Rupert worked in Pennsylvania for a while. When he came back home to visit, he would bring special presents like a loaf of baker's bread and some bologna or bananas. His family really looked forward to Rupert's visits.

The following appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on July 14, 1933: RUPERT MILLER INJURED Ruper Miller son of I P Miller of near Fulda suffered
painful injuries about the chest and forehead recently,
while working in a stone quarry near Harrietsville. Mr.
Miller was standing in the bed of the truck and had
lifted an extra large rock with the intention of throwing
it in the crusher but as he straightened up the weight
of the stone threw him backward over the truckbed.
The stone fell on his chest knocking him unconscious.
Mr. Miller was removed to the Memorial hospital in
Marietta in a Whipple ambulance.

Another accident involving Rupert Miller was described in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on October 14, 1932.. RECEIVES SEVERE INJURIES Rupert Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. P. Miller of near
Fulda, sustained bad lacerations and bruises about the
nose and face, Thursday morning, when he was struck
by a crank, while cranking up the bed of a dump truck
being used to haul crushed stone by Hill & Noll, contractors,
working near Botes' hill. The injured man was brought to
Caldwell, where medical attention was given by Dr. E. G.
Ditch.


Rupert Miller's obituary appeared in the Elyria [OH] Chronicle Telegram on 21 Nov 1964:

ELYRIAN DIES, COUNTY TRAFFIC TOLL NOW 60 SOUTH AMHERST -- A 52-year-old Elyria man
became Lorain County's 60th traffic fatality of 1964
early today, the Lorain County Sheriff's Department
reported. Last year 44 persons did in county acci-
dents. Rupert J. Miller, of 200 Yale Ave., died when his
car went out of control and cracked into a sign pole
on Rt. 113, 450 feet West of Rt. 58 and about a mile
east of here at 3:39 a.m. Miller was pronounced
dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain.
Miller was operator of the Wonder Bar in Milan. The crash added to the toll of a number of recent
one-vehicle accidents in which the drivers were killed
Just yesterday, an Akron man was killed when his
truck overturned in North Ridgeville. Miller's death
is the ninth involving one car since Sept. 1. Deputies said Miller was eastbound on 113. As
he rounded the curb near Rt. 58, his car swerved
across the medium strip, went over the turtlebacks,
and slid sideways into the pole. His 1959 auto was
demolished, deputies added. A motorist who was following the Miller car,
Kenneth Barclay, 700 Foster Ave., gave deputies
the following account of the accident. "I was behind the Miller car on Rt. 113, just west
of Rt. 58, when I noticed his car starting to slide,
and it veered into the post in the middle of Rt. 113.
I stopped my car, ran over to the wreck and noticed
Miller lying on the ground outside of the car.
"Realizing that the man was in serious condition,
I immediately called the sheriff's department. Upon
returning to the wreckage, I put my hand to Miller's
pulse, but was unable to feel any beat." Miller was born in Caldwell, Sept. 9, 1912. He
had lived in Elyria 23 years. He is survived by his
wife Mary; six sons, Fred of Elyria, Gerald, Thomas,
Dennis, Alan and Keith, all at home; two daughters,
Mrs. Marilyn Martinez of Elyria, and Kathleen at
home; five grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Coletta
Estadt, and Mrs Genevieve Saling, both of Caldwell,
Mrs. Alberta Holland, Mrs. Marie Archer, both of
Elyria, Mrs. Vera Oliver, Mt. Vernon; two brothers,
Herman, Culpepper, Va., and Vergil, Wellington;
his mother, Mrs. Elenora Miller, Elyria and his
father, I.P. Miller, Zanesville. Friends may call at the Bittner-DeCarlo Funeral
Home tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday fro
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited
Monday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the funeral
home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church with Rt.
Rev. Msg. William L. Newton, officiating. Burial will
be in St. Mary Cemetery.


Dennis Rupert Miller

The following article appeared in The Chronicle Telegram, Elyria, Ohio on Dec. 24, 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Miller have chosen Dennis as the
name for their son, born December 22 at Elyria Memorial
Hospital. The Millers live at 2079 Grafton road.

The following anniversary announcement appeared in The Chronicle Telegram (Elyria, OH) newspaper on April 16, 1988 (a picture of the Halls accompanied the article) MR., MRS RALPH HALL Friends and relatives are invited to attend an open
house in honor of Ralph and Alberta Hall who will be
celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. The
open house will be hosted by the couple's children
on Sunday April 17 from 2-4 p.m. at St. Jude's Church,
Carribine Hall, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Mr. and Mrs. Hall were married April 21, 1938, in
St Joseph's Church in Braddock, Pa., and have resided
at 986 Valley Blvd., Elyria since 1954. Mr. Hall who is retired from Lear Siegler, enjoys fishing
and gardening. Mrs. Hall's hobbies include gardening,
crocheting and playing cards. She is active in the altar
and Rosary society of St. Jude's church were the couple
are members. They are the parents of Kevin Hall of Elyria; Mrs. Frank
(Joyce) Woodard and Mrs. Charles (Janet) Dorinski, both
of West Unity, Ohio; and Mrs. Jeffrey (Carol) Benson, who
resides in Robinson, Ill. there are seven grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.

Ralph A. Hall's obituary appeared in The Chronicle Telegram (Elyria, OH) newspaper on June 5, 1995. RALPH A. HALL RETIRED MAINTENANCE MAN Ralph A. Hall, 85, of Elyria died Saturday at EMH Region-
al Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Wilkinsburg, Pa., he had lived in Elyria for several
years. He worked for the Gas Co., the Water Department and
Bendix Westinghouse, all in Pittsburgh. He also worked in
the maintenance departments of the former Couche-Uthe
Co. and Lear-Siegler in Elyria. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Alberta 'Bert,' to whom he
was married for 57 years; daughters Joyce Woodard of Angola,
Ind., Janet Lynn Dorinski of West Unity, and Carol Benson of
Findlay; a son, Kevin of Elyria; five grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sisters Marie Topper, Esther
Simpson, Eilia Hammerly and Ada Finucan; a brother, Ray-
mond; a granddaughter and a grandson. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Laubenthal-
DeCarlo funeral Home, 257 Washington Ave., elyria. Services
will be at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church. The Rev.
Frank Kosem, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in
St. Mary's Cemetery in Elyria. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Building
Fund.


Alberta Louvina Miller

The following appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on May 24, 1933: Alberta Miller, Pittsburgh, spent the week-end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. P. Miller.

One year around 1935 Alberta sent money home at Christmas for a tree and gifts for her siblings. That was a very special Christmas!

At the time of the 1930 census, Harold Archer lived with his maternal grandparents, Henry and Emma Ritterbeck, on their rented farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

Virgil Leo Miller

Obituary:
MIDDLEBURG - Virgil Leo Miller, 82, of Middleburg died Monday (April 14, 2003)
at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born March 24, 1921,
in Fulda to Ignatz and Elenora Schott Miller. He retired from Bendix Corp. He was a World
War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Coletta Estadt and Alberta Hall;
and two brothers, Rupert and Herman Miller. He is survived by three sisters, Marie Archer
of Elyria, Gennie Saling of Caldwell and Vera Oliver of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and
nephews. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. McVay-Perkins Funeral
Home in Caldwell is in charge of arrangements.


Paul G. Oliver

On Mar 17, 1944, Paul G. Oliver enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. His estimated date of birth on his enlistment record is given as 1926 and his place of birth as Noble Co., Ohio. His enlistment was for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months. He had completed three years of high school at the time of his enlistment.


Cindy Sue Dhein

Obituary:
Cindy Sue Schott of Danville, CA., passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on February 17, 2006 at age 64 surounded by family. She was born October 9, 1941 in Spokane Washington to Theodore and Margaret Dhein . After moving to Portland, OR, Cindy attended Lake Oswego High and Portland State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phe. She married F. William (Bill) Schott in May of 1962. She represented Portland Oregon in the 1965 Floral Parade of Pasadena. She leaves behind her husband Bill, sons Todd of Roseville, CA., Blake of Brisbane, Ca. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Courtney, Sabrina, Rochelle, Alex and brothers Ron Dhein of San Francisco and Ted Dhein of Aloha Oregon. Cindy was employed by New York Life and a long time member of Club Sport in San Ramon. Most of her spare time was devoted to her grandchildren. A private family service to be held.
