Sumner George Schoeppner

SCHOEPPNERS MARK 15TH ANNIVERSARY
HARRIETTSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Sam Schoeppner of Macksburg
entertained with a dinner Saturday evening in celebration of their
15th wedding anniversary and the 13th birthday of their son, James.
Those from Harriettsville attending were Rev. Fr. Nickel, Miss Clara
Patterson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schoeppner, Sr., Miss Esther Rose
Schott, John Schoeppner, and Edward Schoeppner, Jr. The evening
was spent in playing cards.


Obituary:
STAFFORD - Sumner (Sam) Schoeppner, 46, who operated a grocery
store in Macksburg died unexpectedly after a heart attack at 11 a.m. Sunday
at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schoeppner in Harriettsville.
He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Harriettsville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his widow, the former Virginia
Rhodes, two daughters, Mrs. Donald Bridgeman of Daytona Beach, Fla., and
Miss Judy of the home; a son, James, of Caldwell; four grandchildren; five
brothers, Clarence and John both of Harriettsville, Elmer of Coldwater, O.,
Harold and Edward, both of Lower Salem.
The body is at the Mallett Funeral Home here where friends may call after
6 p.m. Monday.

Ralph Henry Schoeppner

The following article appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on January 16, 1937: FRACTURES ARM Ralph Schoeppner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schoeppner,
Fulda, fractured his left arm, near the shoulder, Friday, when he
fell on the Fulda school grounds. Dr. E. G. Ditch gave medical
treatment and reduced the fracture.

CALDWELL MAN INJURED IN TRUCK CRASH
A 34-year-old Caldwell man, Ralph Schoeppner, was in
fair condition Friday at Good Samaritan hospital where he
is being treated for injuries sustained Thursday night when
he lost control of his truck near Caldwell.
Schoeppner suffered a possible skull fracture and a
severe scalp wound.
According to the Noble County sheriff's department which
investigated, Schoeppner was traveling alone at the time of
the accident. He lost control on a hill on State Route 584, a
short distance south of Route 78.
The truck owned by his father, Albert Schoeppner, a con-
tractor, skidded out of control and crashed through a fence
before coming to rest in a creek bed. A passing motorist
found the injured man and took him to a Caldwell doctor's
where he was given emergency treatment.
Schoeppner is employed by his father who took him to
the hospital.

Ralph Schoeppner's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on July 18, 1972
CALDWELL - Ralph H. Schoeppner, 47, of Belford
street, died at 8 a.m Monday at his home following a brief
illness. He was a carpenter and worked in the building con-
struction trade. Born in Noble County Aug. 20, 1924, he was
a son of Marien Bishop Schoeppner of Caldwell Route 4
and the late Albert Schoeppner.
Mr. Schoeppner was a member of St. Stephen’s
Catholic Church in Caldwell, the VFW of Caldwell, Belle Valley
American Legion Post and Caldwell Eagles Lodge. He was
a Navy veteran of World War II.
Also surviving are his widow, the former Catherine
Schindler; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Ginn of Caldwell and
Mrs. Donna Yonker of Belle Valley; five sons, Robert of
Massillon, and Karry, Dale, Ronnie and David, all of the
home; five grandchildren; four brothers, Norman of Cald-
well, Howard of Caldwell Route 4, Cletus of Zanesville,
and Vernon of Caldwell; four sisters, Mrs. Vera McCartney
of Indiana, Mrs. Leona Schell of Columbus, Mrs. Arlene
Eller of Canton, and Mrs. Delores Snyder of Caldwell.
Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield will take
charge and will take the body to Murphy Funeral Home in
Caldwell where friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. and from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary will be recited at
Murphy Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Eagles
rites will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Requiem mass will be solemnized at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at St. Stephens Catholic church with Rev. Fr.
Lawrence Luciana officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Fulda. Military rites will be observed by
Caldwell VFW Post.


Catharina Eva Schindler

Catherine E. Schoeppner, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born April 5, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late Anthony Nicholas and Cora Matilda Michael Schindler. She was employed as a cafeteria cook at the former Cleveland Graphite Bronze Plant in Caldwell, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Schoeppner was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and its Catholic Women’s Club.

In addition to her parents,… she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Henry Schoeppner, who died July 17, 1972; one daughter, Judy Ginn; two sisters, Rita Balizet and Cecilia Ambrose; and three granddaughters, Ashley Larrick, Courtney Ginn, and Kristen Campbell.

Surviving are her children, Robert G. (Karen) Schoeppner of Canton, Donna M. (Darrel) Yonker of Belle Valley, Larry A. Schoeppner of Belle Valley, Dale E. Schoeppner of Ava, Ronald L. Schoeppner of Canton and David A. (Nancy) Schoeppner of Canton; two sisters, Lynita Mench of Massillon and Bernadette Gilmore of Massillon; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Monday, January 13, 2014, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will begin at 6PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, with Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.

The following engagement announcement appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on July 29, 1949:
AUGUST 20 IS SELECTED FOR FULDA WEDDING
Mr. and Mrs. Clemence Yockey of Sycamore Valley are
announcing the engagement and approaching marriage of
their daughter, Vida Mae, to Norman V. Schoeppner, son
of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Schoeppner of Caldwell.
The wedding will be Saturday August 20, at 9:30 o'clock
in St. Mary's Catholic church in Fulda. Rev. Father B. J.
Mattes will officiate.
A wedding dinner will be served following the ceremony
and from 2 until 5 o'clock, a reception will be held in St.
Mary's parish hall.
The bride-elect attended Bethel high school. Mr. Schoeppner
is a graduate of Caldwell high school of Caldwell and is em-
ployed with his father as a contractor.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schoeppner announce the birth of a son, Wednesday Sept. 14. Named Cletus Henry.

A full page photo spread on the opening of a new wing of Zanesville's Good Samaritan Hospital in the Zanesville Times Recorder (pg 6, section D) on 11 Feb 1966 contains a picture captioned: "Shown checking out the mammoth which furnishes air-conditioning for the entire hospital are Charles Wilson, Cletus Schoeppner, and Jim Paul, members of the hospital maintenance staff."
