Gilbert T. Estadt

Gilbert Estadt's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on April 14, 1972.

CALDWELL -- Gilbert Thomas Estadt, 63, of route 4, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday at his home following a long illness.
Born April 18, 1908 in Noble County, he was a son of Andrew and Elizabeth Hupp Estadt. He was a farmer and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fulda.
Surviving are his widow, Marie Hupp Estadt; four sons, Vernon and Reuben both of Caldwell, Gerald of Quaker City and Carlos of Marietta; one daughter, Mrs. Vera Meadows of Colorado Springs, Colo; one brother Albert of Ashland; two sisters, Miss Cecelia Estadt of Ashland and Mrs. Elmer (Sophia) Miller of Caldwell; nine grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Walter E. Heinz will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call anytime today at the Estadt Funeral Home where Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today.

In 1900, 26 year old unmarried Thomas Hesson lived and worked on his parents farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

He was still living with his elderly parents at the time of the 1910 census.


Rose Elizabeth Estadt

In 1900, 23 year old unmarried Rosa Estadt lived with her parents and several siblings on the family farm in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio.

Further research needs to be done on her mariages. Delores Snider has no date Rose's first marriage to Thomas Hesson. One child resulted from that marriage. Ms. Snider has a date of 22 Feb 1910 for Rose's second marriage to Abe McAtee. (The wedding did not take place in St. Mary's.) However, her first husband appears in the 1910 census index living in the household of his parents. In 1910, Rose and Thomas' daughter Edna is living with Rose's parents.

Caldwell -- Mrs. Rosa Lizzie McAtee, 91, of Elba in Washington
County died at 11 a.m. Sunday (May 11) after an illness. She was
the widow of R. M. McAtee. She was born Sept. 27, 1877, in Enoch
Township, Noble County, a daughter of Florian and Mary Ebbert
Estadt.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Gildow of Macks-
burg, Miss Martha McAtee of the home, and Mrs. Juanita Hughey
of Macksburg; a son, Harley McAtee of Leesburg, Fla; 16 grand-
children, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Estadt Funeral Home here after 2 p.m.
today. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's
Catholic Church at Fulda with Rev. Fr. J. J. Donaldson officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Martha Blanche McAtee

Martha McAtee never married. Her obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on November 10, 1971.
CALDWELL - Mrs. (sic) Martha McAtee, 60, of Elba,
died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She had been in ill heath for the past several years.
Mrs. McAtee was a member of the Mayflower Temple
Pythian Sisters in Elba, the Dexter City American Legion
auxiliary and St. Stephen Catholic Church of Caldwell.
Born Jan. 12, 1911, in Mt. Olive, she was a daughter of
Albert and Rosa Estadt McAtee and was a life resident of
Washington county.
Surviving are two brothers, Harley of Macksburg and Clyde
of Caldwell; one sister, Mrs. Juanita Huey of Macksburg Route
1 and two half-sisters, Mrs. Edna Gildow of Macksburg Route
1 and Mrs. Edna Davis of Cambridge.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in the McVay funeral
Home in Caldwell. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Luciana will officiate and
burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fulda.


Charles McAtee

Charles is not listed as a surviving half-sibling in the 1971 obituary of his half-sister, Martha McAtee.
