Obituary:
Jason Steven Schweinberg, age 17, of Lake Holiday, Sandwich, Illinois passed away Thursday, August 9, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN. He was born June 27, 1984 in Winfield, IL the son of Steven and Cathleen (Hall) Schweinberg.
Jason was a student at Sandwich Community High School and would have attended school this fall as a Senior. He hoped to become a mechanic some day, he enjoyed spending time working on cars. He also was called "Mr. Fix It" by his family because he loved to fix things around the house. Jason enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, golfing, collecting eagles and helping other people.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Cathy Schweinberg of Lake Holiday, Sandwich, IL; two sisters, Rebecca and Hailey and a brother, James, all at home; maternal grandparents, Rose and Marvin Hall of Winfield, IL, Beverly and Dan Ptak of Lombard, IL; paternal grandparents, Donald and Virginia Schweinberg of Effingham, IL; and great maternal grandparents, Gertrude Marrick of Cape Coral, FL and Bertha Butler of Winfield, IL. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services for Jason will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich, IL, the Rev. John William Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2001 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich, IL.
A memorial fund has been established in Jason's name at Citizens First National Bank, 200 E. Church Street, Sandwich, Illinois 60548; and Farmers State Bank, 128 S. Depot St., Somonauk, Illinois 60552.
Pallbearers will be Mike Sudblom, Doug Cytrych, Brian Smith, Anthony Mason, Bill Schweinberg and Jim Janoski.
