William H. McBride's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on May 6, 1976.
William H. McBride, 85, of 115 Cass street, Dresden, a retired employe
(sic) of Armco Steel corporation, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
He had been in ill heath two years with a heart condition.
He was born April 20, 1891 at Fulda near Caldwell.
Mr. McBride retired in 1956. He was a member of St. Ann's catholic church,
American Legion Post 399 and Dresden Grange. He was an Army veteran of
World War I.
Surviving are his widow, the former Margaret R. Mattingly; three sons, Robert
of Dresden Route 1, William C. and Donald L., both of Dresden route 2; six grand-
children; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Bernice Reilly of Dresden.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Church. burial will be in
Dresden Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dresden chapel of Baughman and Sons funeral Home
7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Rosary will be recited at 7:30
p.m. Friday.


Helen

In 1930, Helen Anderson (76) lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Hattie and Fred Hohman, in Jackson Twp., Riley Co., Kansas. Helen came to America in 1867 and was a naturalized citizen.


Clarence H. Stadel

In 1930, 25 year old Clarence Stodel (sic) lived with his wife Ruth E. (21) in a home they rented (rent $30/mo.) at 222 S. 4th St., Manhattan, Riley co., Kansas. Based on census data, they had been married for 2 years. Clarence worked as the proprietor of a garage and Ruth as a book keeper in a garage [prsumedly the same garage].They were both born in Kansas as were Clarence's parents and Ruth's mother. Ruth's father was born in North Carolina. They owned a radio set.

Ruth Elizabeth Stadel, 91, Manhattan, died Tuesday evening, June 6, 2000, at the Stoneybrook Retirement Community where she had been residing in recent months.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1909, at the family home in rural Manhattan, the daughter of Luther S. and Anna A. (Secrest) Parks.

Mrs. Stadel was a lifetime area resident where she was a homemaker. She also was the bookkeeper for the Stadel Motor Company in Manhattan for many years. Mrs. Stadel enjoyed . . .


Esther

79 year old widowed Esther Wickham lived with the family of her 31 year old grandson Nathan Wickham in 1900.. Esther was born in Ohio in Dec 1829. Her parents were born in New York. Four of Ether's six children were still living in 1900. Esther spoke English, but could not read or write.


Earl Harry Kuhn

ZANESVILLE -- Earl Harry Kuhn, 76, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Kuhn was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Noble County to the late Leo G. and Eleanor (Crum) Kuhn. He was a retired meat cutter from the David Davies Co. and the Kroger Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 1058. He was a Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Black) Kuhn of the home, whom he married Oct. 17, 1945; two daughters, Janet (Rick) Bland of Zanesville and Roxanne (Ray) Brandt of Nashport; one granddaughter, Ashley Bland of St. Augustine, Fla.; two grandsons, Jason Bland and Mike Church both of Columbus; one great-grandson, Dylan Church of Columbus; two sisters, Laura Harrell of Fitzgerald, Ga., and Mary (Duke) Bowman of Zanesville; three brothers, Raymond Kuhn of Barnesville, Johnny (Mary Jane) Kuhn of Zanesville and Bernard (Gerry) Kuhn of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Ellen Kuhn; three brothers, Herman, Michael and Theodore Kuhn.

No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Zanesville Memorial Park with Father Thomas V. DiFede. The VFW Post 1058 will conduct Military Rites. ren's hospital Columbus March 17.

Connie Ellen Kuhn, five-day-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kuhn of 762 Spangler drive died in Children's hospital at Columbus Saturday afternoon. In addition to the parents, the child is survived by a three-year old sister, Janet Marie Kuhn, the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John r. Black of Woodlawn avenue, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kuhn of Hall avenue. Services will be conducted at the grave in Mt. Olives at 11 o'clock Monday morning. the body was removed to the Keck funeral home.

Janet Marie Kuhn

The following wedding announcement for Rick Bland and Janet Marie Kuhn appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on May 31, 1970: Miss Janet Marie Kuhn's Wedding Event Of Friday the wedding of Miss Janet Marie Kuhn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl H. Kuhn of Reynoldsburg, former of Zanesville residents, and Charles R. (Rick) Bland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. bland of 3998 Mayhew drive, took place at 6 p.m. Friday before the altar of St. Nicholas Catholic church. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Thomas Brosmer. Mr. Kuhn walked to the altar with his daughter and gave her in marriage. For her wedding she had chosen an empire gown of lutesong with silk organza Juliet sleeves. Satin ribbon and verise lace trimmed the sleeves, neckline and bodice. Her cathedral veil with blusher was worn from a Camelot cap of lace. The bride carried a nosegay of white daisies, red sweetheart roses, baby's breath and blue delphinium tied with orchid ribbon, Mrs. Charles Allbritain was matron of honor, and Miss Roxanne Kuhn, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. bridesmaids were Miss Kay Brock, Mrs. Arthur Lambert of Newark cousin of the bride, and Miss Fran Saad of Columbus. All of the attendants wore orchid dotted swiss, empire style, with puffed sleeves. their headpieces were pillbox style hats of orchid dotted swiss with matching streamers and they carried old fashioned nosegays of roses, daises, baby's breath and bachelor buttons. Betsy Bland, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Donald Covert of Columbus was the bridegroom's attendant. Ushers were Robert and William Bland, William Martin and Larry Denbow. After the wedding a reception was held in the Rainbow Room of Eagles' Temple. Assistants were Mrs. William bland of Columbus, Miss Donna Waltman, Miss Cathy Rodocker, Mrs. Bruce Burgett of Columbus and Miss Mary Burkhart. When the newlyweds return from a honeymoon at Virginia Beach they will live at 3951/2 Mount Vernon road, Newark. Mrs. Bland is a graduate of Zanesville High School and Meredith business College. She attended Ohio University at Athens and before her marriage was employed by Retail Credit Company as a secretary. She is a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mr. Bland. a graduate of Zanesville High School and Ohio University, is a salesman with Bland-Coffey realty. He is a member of First Christian Church.
