Ivy Mary Haslam

Ivy Mary Forshey, age 84, of Sarahsville, passed away Tuesday Morning, July 21, 2009, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 2, 1925 in Salford, England, a daughter of the late William and Theresa O’Mara Haslam. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Carlisle and active in their Catholic Women’s Club. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her Husband Charles S. Forshey Sr. who passed away June 26, 1999; One Son Desmond Forshey and Three Brothers Billy, Joe and Sid Haslam; One Son-In-Law Tom Craft. Surviving are Four Daughters Maureen (Paul) Dimmerling of Caldwell, Sharon Craft of Caldwell, Carol (Rob) McBurney of Zanesville, OH, Jan (Mike) Carter of Caldwell; Seven Sons Dana Forshey of Sarahsville, OH, Dr. Alan (Barb) Forshey of Hickory, NC, Dr. Paul (Connie Pillich) Forshey of Cincinnati, OH, Phil Forshey of Zanesville, Mike (Jackie) Forshey of Zanesville, Charles (Janine) Forshey of Mooresville, NC and Matthew (Phyllis) Forshey of Pickerington, OH; 29 Grandchildren Bruce Dimmerling, Brian (Missy) Dimmerling, Jim (Michelle) Dimmerling, Ann, Lee and Ryan Dimmerling, Nathan Forshey, Desmond (Cheryl) Forshey, and Drew Forshey, Angie (Slade) Hankinson, Theresa (Jason) Farley, Kayla and Tallin Forshey, Adam, Jessica, Emily and Abby Forshey, Christy (Mike) Masters, Robbie McBurney, Kelly and Ian McBurney, Kim (Dale) Bond, Ivy (Eric) Archer and Derek Carter, Joey, Sarah, Luke, Alex and Sam Forshey and 17 Great Grandchildren Gwendolyn, Heather, Taylor, Katie, Gus, Brett, Trey, Aiden, Caitlyn, Isabella, Cole, Stuart, Halie, Hanna, Mark, Grace and Cale; One Sister Maureen Currie of Salford, England. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Vigil Service held at 8:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be 10:30 AM Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Carlisle, with Rev. Father Thomas Hamm and Rev. Father Wayne Morris serving as Celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Carlisle.

Roman E. Thompson

Obituary -- Zanesville Times Recorder, 09 Apr 1969

Service for Roman E. Thompson, 48, of Summerfield Route 1, who died Saturday (April 5) will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Carlisle with Rev. Rudolph Wargo officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson, brother of Walter C. Thompson of 227 Hayes St. [Zanesville], was a farmer and trustee of Stock Township in Noble County. He had been under a doctor's care and died unexpectedly at his home following an apparent heart attack. Born Jan 2. 1921, in Noble County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Christine Thompson, and had served as township trustee for 12 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving in addition to his brother, are his widow, the former Miss Eileen Carpenter; one son, Virgil of Summerfield Route 1, two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Dimmerling of Caldwell Route 1 and Miss Diane Thompson of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Willis and Mrs. Clara Journey, both of New Philadelphia, and one brother, Arthur Thompson of Summerfield Route 1.

Philip Reasbeck

In 1900, Philip Reasbeck (33) owned a mortgaged home at 128 Camp Ave, Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsuylvania. He lived there with his wife, Justina (27) and their three children Peter (3), Gertrude (2), and Stella (4 mos). Also living in the house was Phillip's sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and William Sutton, and their daughter Sadie (14).

According to the obituary of his sister, Lena Riesbeck Crum, Philip lived in Leadsville, PA in 1938.


Justina

According to the 1900 census, Justina's parents were born in Germany.


Stella A. Reasbeck

There is some confustion in the 1900 census regarding Stella's birthdate. Her "age at last birthday" as of June 1, 1900 is given as 4 months. But her month and year of birth look like Jan 1899.
