Albert J. Schumacher

Albert Schumacher’s obituary was published in the Zanesville Signal on 23 Dec 1946:
LOCAL WOMAN’S BROTHER DIES
Albert J. Schumacher, 65, prominent Woodsfield grocer and brother of Mrs. Victoria Haser of this city, died this morning at his home following a brief illness.
A native of Monroe county, he had operated a grocery store at Woodsfield for 40 years.
Surviving in addition to the sister are his widow; Isabelle; a son, Paul, of Woodsfield; his mother, Mrs. Phillip Schumacher of Woodsfield; three brothers, Frank and Isadore Schumacher of Woodsfield and Otto Schumacher of Canton, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Thursday morning at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield with burial in the church cemetery.
The body has been removed to the Galbraith funeral home at Woodsfield.

MRS. SCHUMACHER CALLED BY DEATH
WOODSFIELD, O., Jan 11 - Mrs. Isabelle M. Schumacher,
68, of 141 North Main street, Woodsfield, died early Monday morning
[11 Jan 1954] in the Martins Ferry hospital after an illness of one
month.
Mrs. Schumacher was a life long resident of Monroe county.
For a number of years she and her husband operated a grocery store
here. She was a member of St. Sylvester’s Catholic church. She was a
daughter of Jacob and Magdalene Shell Weisend.
Surviving are a son, Paul of Canton; and a grandson, John;
three brothers, Adam Weisend of Belle Valley, Clem and Alex Weisend
of Lewisville; and four sisters, Mrs. Laura Wires of Clearwater, Fla.,
Mrs. May Kindelberger of Newark, Mrs. Clara Kuhn of Lewisville, and
Miss Lorena Weisend of Cambridge.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning
at St. Sylvester church in charge of the Rt. Rev. J. D. Mehler. Burial will
be in the church cemetery by the Schumacher funeral home of Woodsfield.
The Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock Tuesday evening at the
funeral home.

Mary M. Kenney, age 73, formerly of 2725 Blair Pl. SW, died Wednesday, June 12,
1991, at Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. Born atLewisville, OH, a daughter
of the late Henry and Cecilia Smithberger. Resident of Canton since 1963 coming from
Columbus. She was a member of St.Joseph Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jerome R. Kenney in 1957. Survived by daughter
and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Marshall Sparrow of Springfield, OH; sons and daughters-in-
law, Robert J. and Barbara Kenney of Long Island, NY, David M. and Cathy Kenney of
Waynesburg, OH, Daniel J. and Veronica Kenney of Mill Valley, CA; eight grandchildren;
sisters, Mrs. Leander (Genny) Kuhn of Lewisville and Mrs. Edna Crum of Canton. Mass
of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10a, m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial at
St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH. Calling hours Friday 7-9 p. m. and Saturday 9 - 9:45
a.m. at the Welch-Sekeres Funeral Home.

August Weber

In 1900, August Weber (35) and his wife of 9 years, Theresa (35) rented part of a two family home at 710 Fifth St. in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Living with them were their two children, Mary (8) and Edward (2). Mary attended school.

At the time of the 1920 census, August Weber (56) owned a home at 503 Warren St. in Marietta, Ohio. Living in the household with him were his wife, Theresa (56), and children Catherine M. (27) and Edwin L. (21). August worked as a plasterer.

In 1930, widower August Weber (66) lived with the family of his son, Edwin at 805 Phillips St. in Marietta. He still worked as a plasterer.

According to the 1900 census, Mary's parents were both born in Germany.

In 1920, 27 year old Catherine M. Weber lived with her parents in Marietta, Ohio. She was employed as a saleslady in a retail dry goods store.

Martha June Cornelius

Martha J. Kuhn, 70, of 46198 State Route 145, Lewisville, Ohio died Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born at Chicago, Illinois on July 23, 1938 a daughter of the late Wayne and Laura Stansbury Cornelius.
She was a former school bus driver for the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville, Ohio where she was also a member of the C.W.C.; a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Lewisville, Ohio; a member of the Happy Hearts Singers and she was the first Certified woman volunteer firefighter for the Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department. Martha enjoyed crocheting, cooking and most of all her family.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph F. Kuhn whom she married on July 25, 1959; four sons: Michael C. Kuhn of Lewisville, Ohio, David J. Kuhn of Lewisville, Ohio, Ronald W. Kuhn of Lewisville, Ohio and Christopher A. (Jodie) Kuhn of Lewisville, Ohio; two sisters: Joan Barker of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rosemary Zink of Brevard, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Ashley and Ryan Kuhn, Alexandria and Allison Kuhn, Erica Kuhn and Lucas and Tyler Kuhn; two great grandchildren: Jase David Kuhn and Bayleigh Burdett; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2008 with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
