Beth Mazgay

Beth Schafer, age 64, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at her home. She was born October 29, 1949, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Stanley “P.I.” and Betty Wells Mazgay. She was a 1967 graduate of Caldwell High School, and she was employed by the former Ralston’s Pharmacy in Caldwell, and by Red Carpet Health Care Center in Cambridge, where she was a housekeeper for 11 years. Beth was a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, and she enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping,… and watch PBS on television. She also loved spending time at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son-in-law, David E. Archer, II. Surviving are her husband, Duane C. Schafer, whom she married October 30, 1970; three daughters, Dawn R. (Jack) McCulley of Cambridge, and Tiffany K. Archer and Amanda L. (Kris) Bright, both of Caldwell; two sisters, Stana L. (Dick) Brown and Michelle A. (Jay) Schwendeman, both of Caldwell; three grandchildren, Paige Michelle Young of Cambridge, and Cole Stanton Archer and Logan Chase Archer, both of Caldwell; her mother-in-law, Pauline Schafer of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, December 18th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Church of Christ, 104 Cumberland Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.

Dorothy Opal Ralph Geary, age 85 of Coshocton, formerly
of Caldwell, died Tuesday afternoon (8/19/2003) at the Coshocton
Memorial Hospital. She was born March 14, 1918 in Noble County a daughter of
the late Homer and Mabel Baker Ralph. She retired from Hamilton Beach
in Byesville and attended the Cumberland Pilgram Chapel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 sister;
Kathleen Ralph, 2 brothers; Earl and Robert Ralph, 1 grandaughter; Miriam
Ruth Geary, 1 grandson; Johnathon Allen Geary. She is survived by 2 sons; Edwin Ray (Virginia) Geary Sr. of Cosh-
octon, Carl Wesley (Ester) Geary Sr. of Caldwell, 1 daughter; Wava Joy
Schaffer of Caldwell, a foster son; Elton Melvin Walters of Byesville, 1
brother; Darrell D. Ralph of Missouri, a Half-brother; Riley (Jewell) Doven-
barger of Mansfield, 17 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-
grandson. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home on Thurs-
day from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1
pm with Rev. Gary Brugger officiating. Interment will be held at Sharon
Cemetery.
