Obituary:
WATERFORD — Edward J. Schott, 68, of 15690 Waterford
Road, Waterford, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday (May 17, 2005) at
Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. He was born July 21, 1936, in Waterford, a son of Oscar
John and Lucy Sorg Schott. He was a truck driver for many
years and was co-owner of Schott Brother’s Trucking for 27
years. He was employed at Warren School District as a
bus transportation supervisor and later as a mechanic. He
graduated from Waterford High School in 1954. He was a
member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was active in
several church activities. He was a charter of the Beverly
Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed NASCAR races and
loved his job, especially working on a bus. On Aug. 1, 1957, he married Marilyn Strauss Schott,
who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Den-
ise Sutton and her husband, William, of Marietta; four
sons, Brian Schott and his wife, Carol, of Marietta, Mitch
Schott and his wife, Loraine, of Waterford, Phil Schott
and his fiancée, Corinna, of Waterford, and Joe Schott
and his wife, Laura, of Waterford; nine grandchildren,
Aaron Sutton, Kaylee Sutton, Krissy Sutton, Matt Schott,
Sarah Schott, Marissa Schott, Kaitlin Schott, Chase
Schott, and Olivia Schott; and one sister, Lillian Arnold
of Beverly. He was preceded in death by his parents and two
brothers, Wilfred Schott and Ralph “Butch” Schott. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at
St. Bernard Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert
Kawa officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCurdy
Funeral Home, Beverly. A Christian Wake service will
be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the St.
Bernard Catholic Church, Beverly.

WATERFORD - Marilyn V. Schott, 67, of Waterford Road, Waterford, died at 8 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 1, 2007) at her home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Palmer Township, Ohio, the daughter of Paul A. and Winifred H. Offenberger Strauss. She had been employed by Ewing Schools/WASCO Inc. for several years. She graduated from Waterford High School in 1957. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly.

On Aug. 1, 1957, she married Edward J. Schott, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise Sutton and husband, William, of Marietta; four sons, Brian Schott and wife, Carol, of Marietta, Mitch Schott and wife, Loraine, of Waterford, Phil Schott and fiancée, Machelle Blackburn, of Waterford, and Joe Schott and wife, Laura, of Waterford; her mother, Winifred Strauss of Waterford; nine grandchildren, Aaron Sutton, Kaylee Sutton, Krissy Sutton, Matt Schott, Sarah Schott, Marissa Schott, Kaitlin Schott, Chase Schott, and Olivia Schott; one brother, Tom Strauss and wife, Evelyn, of Waterford; one sister, Barbara Wiley of Belpre.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her father.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly with Monsignor Robert Kawa officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home, Beverly.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bernard Church building fund.
