Notes

Brookfield

Volume VII (Wills 1786-1790), page 47 shows a Noah Brookfield as a witness of
James Colie's will in Springfield NJ, 1790.

Emma Miller

Birthdate: City of Newark, Essex Co., NJ Volume M, Births 1860-1867 page 234. record indicates girl born to Andreas Muller, Mason.

NAME: funeral records of Verina Stadler Miller, in care of Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, Union, NJ indicate that Mrs. Miller's daughter's name was Emma Staehle.

There is no proof that the girl born in 1862 was Emma. It is known from the
1900 US Census (Newark, Essex Co. NJ National Archives Microfilm Publication # T623, reel 967, enumeration district 138, page 32, sheet 1) that Emma's mother had a child who died before 1900. The girl born in 1862 may be either Emma or that child. Since Emma was out of the house by 1880, it may be that she was married and therefore over 18.

At the time of the 1920 census, 24 year old Laura Bruggeman lived with her parents and younger siblings in the family home at 100 Comrie Ave. in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She was employed as an ironer in a laundry.

In 1930, Laura (35) lived with her widowed father and two younger siblings on Comrie Ave. Laura was not employed outside the home.
