Barbara L. Reischman

At the time of the 1900 census, all seven of Barbara Reischman Burkhart Baker's children were living.


Isadore M. Burkhart

Isadore Burkhart never married. He was a resident of Monroe County, Ohio at the time of his death.


Sylvester A. Burkhart

In 1930, unmarried Sylvester Burkhart lived with his mother and step-father on the family farm in Center Twp., Monroe County, Ohio.


George Washington Baker

At the time of the 1900 census, 45 year old farmer Geoorge Baker lived in Center Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. He had been married for four years to his wife Barbara. Living with them were George and Barbara's two young daughters, Rena (?) (3) and Hannah (2), and five children from Barbara's first marriage: Tille (16), Isadore (12), Treisi (11), Sylvester (10) and Lena (?) (7) Burkhart. All of the Burkhart children attended school except 11 year old Theresa. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Frank Schwall and William Tidd.

In 1910, farmer George Baker (55) still lived with his wife of 14 years, Barbara (44) in Center Twp It was the second marriage for both of them. Living with them were their children, Elizabeth (13), Hannah (11), Mary (9) and Anne (6); as well as Barbara's children from her first marriage: Tillie (23), Isadore (22), Barbara T. (21), Sylvester A. (19) and Julia L. (17 ) Burkhart. The oldest three Baker girls attended school. George and his mother were born in Ohio; his father was German.

In 1930, George (75) and Barbara (65) Baker owned a farm in Center Twp. They lived with two of Barbara's unmarried sons, Isadore (43) and Sylvester (39), and grandson Robert Moore (14). It is unclear who Robert is, since one of Barbara's daughters are known to have married a man named Moore.

Obituary -- The Zanesville [Ohio] Signal -- 20 Feb 1945

WOODSFIELD -- Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. John's
Catholic Church in Miltonsburg for John Reischman with Rev. Father George F.
Drescher officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery by the Galbraith
Funeral Home of Woodsfield.
Mr. Reischman died at the home of his son, Leo, on Friday [16 Feb 1945]. He
is survived by two sons, Leo of the home, and Gilbert of Bridgeport. One daughter
preceded him in death several years ago. Also surviving are one brother, Peter of
Woodsfield Route 3 and three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Baker of Woodsfield Route 5,
Mrs. Joseph Burkhart of Barnesville, and Mrs. Anna Harper of Cambridge.

Catholic Church in Miltonsburg for John Reischman with Rev. Father George F.

John W. Butler

In 1930, John W. Butler (58) owned a farn in Malaga Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with his wife Minnie (54). Living with them were their sons Raphael V. (22), Francis J. (19), Paul L. 15), and Ronald R. (9). The two youngest two biys attended school. The two older boys worked on the farm. According to the census, John Butler and his mother were born in Ohio; his father was Irish.

After the death of his first wife, John Butler married her first cousin, whose name was also Philimena Reischman.

John Butler was a patient at Barnesville General Hospital for five weeks preceding his death. Death certificate informant was his son, Francis Butler. s

Joseph F. Burkhart, 85, of 119 Sycamore street,
Barnesville,died Thursday morhing, Jan 4th, follow-
ing a long illness.
He was a native of Monroe County, born on Jan 1,
1876, a son of the late John and Mary Zwick Burkhart.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Church of
the Assumption, Barnesville, and the Holy Name
Society.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Mary Burkhart; six
children, Oliver Burkhart, of Wallingford, Conn.; Miss
Alice Burkhart, of the home; Mrs.Ray Jeffers, of Atlas
Star Route, Barnesville; Mrs. Thornton Vance of Co-
lumbus; Paul Burkhart and Mrs. Geo. Mayberry, of
Barnesville, Route; one sister, Mrs. Mary Stimpert,
of McKees Rocks, PA., and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Monday morning at
ten o'clock in theChurch of the Assumption with Rev.
Rudolph Wargo officiating. Burial was in the Catholic
cemetery.


Mary Irene Reischman

Obituary:
Mrs. Mary Burkhart, 86, of 199 Sycamore street died at 7 a.m. Sunday (July
31, 1966) at Barnesville Hospital where she had been a patient one week. Born
March 14, 1880, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of Jacob and Lena Reisch-
man. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption and its Altar Society.
Her husband Joseph F. Burkhart died in 1951.
Surviving are two sons, Oliver Burkhart of Wallingford, Conn., and Paul Burkhart
of Barnesville; three daughters, Mrs. Marcella Jefferies and Mrs. Clara Mayberry,
both of Barnesville and Mrs. Agnes Vance of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Anna Harper
of the home; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Campbell Funeral Home here [Zanesville] where friends
may call and where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be
held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption with Rev. Fe. John J.
Reardon officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.

In 1870, 48 year old John Burkhart owned a farm worth $3800 near Stafford in Franklin Twp., Monroe County, Ohio.
