Dorothy Dover Davis

Dorothy Dover was born 16 Jan 1923, Canton, Stark, Ohio, USA (daughter of Herbert Earl Dover and Ella Dora Johanning.) She was a housewife most of her life, a loving Mother to two sons, and a cherished grandmother of 2, and great-grandma of 3. She was the former wife of the late Jay C. Lash Sr. a Barber from Canton, Ohio, and widow to the late William Davis Sr. a retired Naval Officer from Denver, Co.

Rita V. Dover

The name of Herber Dover's 7 year old daughter in the 1930 census is clearly "Marie." However later records refer to her as "Rita V." (marriage, brother Herbert's obituary).


Louise Clara Dover

In the 1930 census, the 1 year old daughter of Herbert and Ella Dover is clearly "Clara." However subsequent records refer to her as "Louise C." (marriage, brother Herbert's obituary).


Martha A. White

At the time of the 1900 census, six of Martha Archer's seven children were still living.

In the 1910 census, Martha Archer is the omly married woman on that page of the census for whom the questioss "number of children born" and "number of children living" is left blank.

Martha's obituary appears to have at least one line of type missing. (Her father's surname and the phrase "She was married ... ") It also does not mention her first name. The obituary appeared on page 5 of the Zanesville Times Recorder on 19 Feb 1953.

RITES TODAY FOR KIMBOLTON WOMAN
Funeral services for Mrs. William Berry, 84, of Kimbolton, will be conducted at
10 o'clock this morning at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic church in Newcomerstown
with Rev. Fr. Michael Tabit in charge. Burial will be in the Bere cemetery by the
Bonnell funeral home of Newcomerstown.
Mrs. Berry died at her home Monday [16 Feb 1953]. She was born August 19,
1869, in Guernsey county, a daughter of John and Jane Dickson to William Riley Archer,
who died in November 1937. On Nov. 27, 1941, she was married to William Berry,
who survives. Mrs. Berry was a member of the St. Francis de Sales church.
Besides her husband the surviors are her two sons, Lewis Archer, Canton, and Ralph
Archer, Wilmington; five daughters, Mrs. Blanche King, Summerfield, Mrs. Bertha Atkinson,
Byesville, Mrs. Eva Johanning, Mrs. Donna Dimmerling, Canton, and Mrs. Edna Storch,
Akron; one brother, James White, Caldwell; five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lahue, Berne, Mrs.
Margaret Cunningham, Sarahsville, Mrs. Famnie Horton, Byesville, Mrs. Rose Bates, and
Mrs. Susan Robinson, New Concord; 28 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
