Mary B. Schwallie, age 81, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening after abrief illness. Born in Louisville, she had lived most of her life in theCanton area. A graduate of Louisville High School Class of 1941, she was amember of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Ladies Guild of the Church,Columbus Women's Club, AARP, TOPS, numerous card clubs and she workedfor two years at the Hartville Migrant Ministries Thrift Store. She attendedCanton Beauty College and worked as a beautician before working for thePlain Local School System, retiring as head cook at Frazier ElementarySchool. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Julie Bishop; stepmother,Bertha Bishop; son, Donald Schwallie; brothers, Roman and Francis Bishop.Survived by her husband, Francis "Fritz" Schwallie, with whom she celebrated59 years of marriage on February 15, 2004; sons and daughters-in-law, Robertand Sue of North Canton, David and Susan of Canton; grandchildren andspouse, Kimberly and Vince Grishaber, Kelly Schwallie, Jason and Josh Kiser;great grandson, Nicholas Grishaber; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, JaneBishop of Sebring, Ann and John Theiss of Canton, Lester and LucilleSchwallie of North Canton. Friends will be received on Friday (tonight) 6-9p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung onSaturday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. JohnNentwick as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery
