Marilyn Manson (Brian Hugh Warner) is a gothic shock rock musician whose style is influenced by heavy metal and industrial rock.

Brian Warner grew up in Canton, Ohio where he attended the Heritage Christian School and graduated from Glen Oak High School.  His family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he attended Broward Community College.  His band was formed in Fort Lauderdale in 1989.

Manson's lyrics contain many references to sex, drugs, violence and anti-religious sentiment.  Members of the band dress in outlandish makeup and costumes.  Their behavior onstage and off has led to protests, petitions, bannings and arrests of band members.  Marilyn Manson has three platinum records, three gold records, and two number-one albums.  In June 2003, MTV referred to Marilyn Manson as "the only true artist today."

Marilyn Manson married his longtime girlfriend Dita Von Teese (Heather Sweet) in Ireland in December 2005. They divorced two years later.  They have no children.
